The agriturismo
The agritourism was born from an ancient monastery situated in a suggestive valley in the Umbrian countryside, 4 km from the centre of Gubbio. The name derives from the small church of Santa Cristina, still consecrated and part of the property, and from the main activity of the friars who lived there cultivating mulberries for silkworms.
The accommodation
The farmhouse has 6 apartments obtained from the ancient stables, whose names recall birds living in the area.
Some are arranged on one floor, others on two levels. They have underfloor heating and are composed of kitchen or kitchenette (with electromagnetic induction hobs), double or twin bedroom, bathroom, private garden, parquet and antique furniture.
Whoever needs it will be provided cradle, changing table and everything necessary for your children.
Activities and surrounding
The agritourism organizes on request cooking classes to make typical Umbrian dishes with organic raw materials and zero km.
At guests' disposal a common green area overlooking the valley and the orchard (peach, apricot, pear, cherry, plum, fig and plum trees). In the garden there is a children's area, an area with wood-burning oven and barbecue.
In the green countryside of Gubbio you can take walks, nature trails, cycling tourism (the center of Gubbio can be reached in a few minutes), hiking, Nordic walking, birdwatching, paragliding and hang-gliding (Monte Cucco and Monte Calvo), collection of aromatic and medicinal herbs.
The area is protected and populated by wild animals (roe deer, hares, foxes, pheasants, porcupines and birds).
You can visit the nearby organic farms, see the farm animals and taste the products made with traditional methods.
To visit Gubbio (also guided tours by archaeologists), Perugia, Assisi, Via Francigena, Lake Trasimeno, Todi, Frasassi Caves, Monte Cucco Park on the border with Marche, Tuscany and the Republic of San Marino.
You can use the laundry service and, for those who want to explore the lush countryside in which the property is immersed, we have thought of a bicycle rental service.
For those arriving by plane or train there is a shuttle service on reservation. Pets are welcome at the farm with a small surcharge of 10,00 euro per period of stay, as a contribution for final cleaning.
