Bagno Vignoni spa centre in Tuscany
Bagno Vignoni, one of Tuscany’s most beautiful and well-preserved medieval hamlets, is located just a few kilometers from Siena in the picture-postcard landscape of Orcia Valley. Set amidst a dreamy backdrop of age-old olive groves and vineyards, it’s one of the region’s biggest spa centres and boasts a cascade of spectacular hot springs that are free to the public.
The history of Bagno Vignoni centers on the springs around which the village sprang up. Its waters were frequented in ancient Roman times, and in the 16th century a pool fed by the hot springs was built in Piazza delle Sorgenti, right in the village center. Over time, houses, guest accommodations and a church were all constructed around the pool.
Today bathing in the historic village pool is no longer permitted, but close to the hamlet you'll find another thermal water pool accessible to the public. Many visitors travel to Bagno Vignoni every year to indulge in this outdoor bathing experience. Why not give it a try?
Once you’re fully relaxed, set off to discover this beautiful region. All around Bagno Vignoni you’ll find trails ready to explore. Spend sunny days hiking, horse riding or mountain biking - a great way to truly appreciate the lovely landscape.
