Contrada Valletraglia, San Giorgio 64034 Castiglione Messer Raimondo (Teramo) Code
A certified organic farm in Castiglione Messer Raimondo, in a hilly spot, close to the Gran Sasso National Park and a few kilometres from the coast and its beaches. Spreading over 15 hectares, it is the result of the renovation of a cluster of traditional stone farmhouses, with respect for their original lines, using local stone and brick. All around, you'll find thriving nature, with olive trees and woodland. The farm grows cereals, vegetables, legumes and herbs, and produces an outstanding organic extra virgin olive oil using native Castiglionese olives.
The five apartments comprise private bathrooms, TVs, well-equipped kitchens, Wi-Fi internet, washing machines, and outdoor space for al fresco dining in summer.
The local area is home to medieval hamlets and cycle tracks for all levels of experience. You can book a door to discover the pecorino cheese producers of Farindola. Or just a short journey takes you from the peaks of the Apennines to the Adriatic Sea. In the nearby woods you can see pheasants, doves, swallows, magpies, hares, squirrels but also badgers, foxes, wild boar and chamois.
The Gran Sasso National Park offers much to see and do. You can take a donkey tour or get involved in the olive harvest on the estate itself.
