The agriturismo
The agriturismo is situated in Castello d'Argile, a small town in the province of Bologna, close to the sunny cities of Emilia.
The structure offers hospitality in elegant, well furnished rooms, and is an ideal refuge for those who love nature and tranquillity.
The accommodation
The farm is situated on the plains of Emilia, where patchwork fields alternate with the porticoed towns so characteristic of this area, alongside ruins of ancient buildings, industrial facilities and new residential districts.
The 18th-century villa has been completely renovated, while retaining all its original charm, and has been converted into 10 comfortable, well-appointed rooms, each unique, which are named after the typical wild flowers of the area.
The bedrooms available are 7 double rooms and 3 triples, and a further bed can be added. All have their own bathroom, telephone, minibar, hairdryer, safe, satellite TV and air conditioning.
On the ground floor there is a large room providing disabled access and fitted with all the necessary comforts.
The agriturismo provides hearty breakfasts, with freshly prepared treats to get your day off to a sweet start, such as delicious home-made cakes and yoghurts, preserves and superb fruit juices produced by local farms.
The agriturismo is surrounded by a marvellous children’s play park with a wonderful swimming pool for kids and adults alike. Guests can also relax in the invigorating hotspring spa whirlpool bath at any time of the year.
Well-behaved small and medium-sized dogs are permitted.
Activities and surrounding
The agriturismo has its own beautiful park with a simple but fun nature trail for those guests who want to get some exercise even when they’re on holiday. At the end, they can relax in the warm waters of the hotspring spa whirlpool bath.
Guests can use the bicycles provided by the agriturismo to go on days out and appreciate the nature and idyllic peacefulness of our countryside.
For sports lovers, there are also various activities in the vicinity: a golf course 5 km away, tennis 2 km, public swimming baths 2 km, and horse riding 13 km.
Only a few kilometres away are the towns of Pieve di Cento, with its medieval historical centre, famous for its museums and art galleries (the MAGI ‘900, the Museo di Arte Contemporanea and the Pinacoteca) and many churches; Cento, well-known for paintings by Guercino finally available to the public at the Civic Pinacoteca and its famous carnival; and the town of Bentivoglio, with its museum of country life, the Museo della Civiltà Contadina.
The agriturismo is situated in a central zone between some of Italy’s major cities of art and culture, such as: Bologna, home to the oldest university in Western Europe, as well as to elegant palazzi and historic churches such as the splendid Basilica di San Petronio, and almost 40 km of porticoes, providing a unique atmosphere and an original way of shopping; Ferrara, a small lively city, with its Palazzo dei Diamanti, a venue for major exhibitions, and theatre seasons of the highest level at the Teatro Comunale, and its imposing Castello Estense;
Modena, an attractive, elegant city with a fine historic centre dominated by the cathedral with its beautiful bell tower known as the Ghirlandina.
The agriturismo is also an excellent base for day trips to major cities of art such as Florence and Venice.
