The agriturismo
Simplicity, typicality and wholesomeness are the qualities offered by this small family farm near Duino, in a small karst hamlet surrounded by greenery, 10 minutes from the sea. With passion and dedication, the farm produces wine, olive oil, honey and vegetables which guests can taste and purchase.
The accommodation
The recent renovation of the hayloft has created 4 twin rooms (2 of which offer sea views), available as B&B accommodation. Spacious, light and comfortable, all rooms are rustically furnished and offer heating, air conditioning, bathrooms, TVs and Wi-Fi.
On the ground floor there is a breakfast area with an open fireplace and a communal kitchenette and fridge.
Bicycles are available for guests to hire.
Activities and surrounding
Overlooking the Trieste Gulf, the agriturismo stands just 30 minutes from the city and 15 minutes from the airport. This karst region was previously the site of several military battles, portrayed in the local open air museums accessible via the CAI (Italian Alpine Club) pathways to Mount Ermada, on the border with Slovenia.
10 minutes takes you to Duino Castle, the mouth of the River Timavo, the palaeontology centre in the tourist and seaside resort of Villaggio del Pescatore and a sports centre with a football pitch, tennis courts, sailing and rowing.
The farm also offers horseback excursions.
