Via Monte Capraro, 5, 03011 Alatri (Frosinone)
The Favogoloso is in the Alatri area in a very panoramic position, from which guests can enjoy a 360 degree view over the Ciociaria area and beyond.
On this plateau, once a land of brigands and then a strategic outpost during the war, oil, honey and artistic beeswax candles are now produced.
The agriturismo has three rooms (Blu, Ocra and Arancio) and a mini apartment (Tana del Brigante).
The three rooms, all with ensuite bathroom, play on different colours and have a double bed. A single bed or bunk bed can be added for children.
A shared room with kitchen, refrigerator, old wooden stove and library are also available for guests, in which they can cook and relax.
The Tana del Brigante is instead the oldest part of the complex and legend has it that here lived a farmer who was forced to give food and lodging to three brigands. This is a single environment with a sofa bed, a kitchenette, a sink, a refrigerator, a fireplace and a balcony. The bathroom, on the other hand, has a stone floor and walls.
In addition to relaxing in the peace and tranquillity of the olive grove, guests can go on guided tours of the wonderful world of bees and olive trees, watch the honey extraction (from May to July), the olive harvest and the transformation of the olives into extra virgin oil in the farm’s mills (November-December).
During the winter, you can go skiing at the Campo Catino ski resort (half an hour's drive away). The agriturismo is less than half an hour from the new Rainbow Magicland amusement park in Valmontone, an hour from the mountains in the Abruzzo Park and the sea in Sabaudia, Terracina and Sperlonga.
Rome can be reached in an hour by train: the BIRG day ticket, costing €10.50, includes travel to and from Rome as well as unlimited travel on all public transport in the capital.
