The agriturismo
There is a place, in the heart of Tuscia, where it is possible to spend pleasant stays in the pursuit offood and wine and relaxation, discovering an area rich in history and panoramic views, in direct contact with donkeys from Viterbo and Amiata, and friendly Livorno chickens .
It is the farmhouse Mosaic Beyond The Garden, framed by almond and olive trees, enriched by splendid stone mosaics and walls built with stones put in dry.
The swimming pool, made as an infinity pool, is nestled between the garden beds and a monumental dry stone wall. It is about 16 meters long and 5 meters wide, with a depth ranging from 1.30 meters and 2 meters.
The accommodation
The farmhouse offers hospitality in 4 cozy independent apartments, equipped with the most modern comforts, distributed in two farmhouses built in green building.
Furnished in modern style and soft colors, located a few meters from the swimming pool, the mini-apartments have independent access and are surrounded by centuries-old oak trees with panoramic views of olive groves grazed by donkeys and chickens.
Each unit, about 40 square meters in size, has a spacious bedroom with a double bed, bathroom with shower, a bright living room with a double sofa bed and a modern kitchenette. Full kitchenware and linens are provided in each apartment for each guest.
Each apartment can accommodate up to 4 people in total and is equipped with air conditioning.
Ideal for a family with children, a group of friends or a couple, here it is possible to walk freely among the olive groves and along the stone paths that lead to the farm's Mediterranean garden , which is rich in aromatic plants such as rosmirane, lavenders, thyme, sage, mint and many other species used by both in the kitchen and for the extraction of essential oils.For those who wish to enjoy all that the farmhouse offers, they can also enjoy zero-mile dishes cooked by Anna.
Upon request, it is possible to book lunches and dinners that will be made by us and served both indoors, in a living room decorated with mosaics and antique furniture, and outdoors, under the wooden canopy that overlooks a cascade of rosemary that slopes down to the olive grove.
Activities and surrounding
Among the activities offered by the farm are classes on dairy donkey breeding, including a demonstration of hand milking.
Guests will be able to socialize with the animals, pet them, learn about their life cycle, and, for the younger ones, a souvenir photo over the rump of some female will also be possible.
Other classes offered are those held on the Mediterranean garden, allowing guests to learn about the biology of each species, how they are grown and propagated.
Another type of activity offered are excursions to discover the area. These range from the naturilistic and scenic excursion, on the wild pastures of the Blera Agricultural University where herds of horses and wild cows are present, to the naturalistic and archaeological excursion, among Etruscan paths and tombs, old molehills along the Biedano River, and bridges from the Roman era.
At the time of the olive harvest, however, there will be a walk from the farmhouse to the oil mill of the Cooperative l'Olio di Blera, with a guided tour, tasting of the new oil, and a lesson on the extra virgin olive oil extraction process.
