In the Ligurian countryside between Apricale and Bajardo, within a farm with an olive vocation, is a place dedicated to relaxation, where you can enjoy food and wine, surrounded by olive trees and green hills. The family-run agriturismo is located in Foa, an ideal place for a relaxing stay in the midst of nature. The farm produces an extra-virgin olive oil of the highest quality, an activity which is accompanied by that of agritourism hospitality. The farmhouse offers the opportunity to taste the local food and wine products in the hall of the house or to immerse yourself in the silence of nature by choosing book from the library.
The accommodation
The structure was built by recovering two typical casoni of the rural architecture of Ponente Ligure reusing most of the original material obtained from partial demolitions. Two rooms with 2/3 beds and an apartment with 4 beds have been created. All rooms, dedicated to the masters of yellow Montalbán, Camilleri and Simenon, have a bathroom and kitchenette.
The Camilleri apartment with a double bed and a sofa bed is a structure separated from the central building, built entirely of stone, originally intended as a stable and warehouse. It also has a beautiful terrace.
Room Montalban has an independent entrance, as before the renovation was the cellar of the peasant family. For this reason its partition walls are very large and is therefore a cool place in summer and still warm in winter. The furniture is in peasant poor art that distinguishes the whole structure.
Simenon double room was made from the old barn. The walls are made of stone, while the furniture is in rustic style.
Very intimate and romantic environment with a predominantly green, fresh and natural colour. The large bathroom in antique wood.
The prices indicated include breakfast, bed linen, towels and final cleaning.
Activities and surrounding
The area offers a dense network of trails and tracks equipped for downhill and enduro for mountain biking or trekking.
Close to the Park of the Ligurian Alps between Bajardo and Apricale, in the province of Imperia, there is a protected area.
The area of Apricale is rich in history; the land belonged to the Benedictines who settled the first olive trees in the late fifteenth century, but was already inhabited in Roman times. Among the archaeological sites, there is the tumulus necropolis of Pian Del Re, a large funerary monument dating back to the late Bronze Age.
Equally interesting to visit are the village of Baiardo and some caves in Val Nervia, around Melosa. In winter you can practice cross-country skiing, from June to September canyoning.
The Roya Valley is ideal for kayaking and canoeing, in the area of Breil, the Roya River is practicable for nine kilometers. You can go horseback riding or paragliding.
