The ideal choice for your special events or a relaxing break, Ippotur is nestled in an age old pine wood, 4 km from the sea, on a 14 hectare estate in the Colline del Sole hills, enjoying beautiful light and a wonderful location on the slopes of the Apuan Alps, with views stretching from the Magra Valley to Viareggio and beyond.

The owners of this agriturismo, which was born from the renovation of a cluster of ancient fortresses perched on a wooded hillside near the historic hamlet of Castelnuovo Magra, are passionate about encouraging contact with nature, attention to the environment, the culture of rural life and gourmet food and wine, conservation and the promotion of regional identities, traditions and folklore.

The accommodation

The brick guest bungalows were built in keeping with the original architectural style. With 4 beds, stylish furnishings and attention to detail, the bungalows offer all you could need,  from kitchenettes to bathrooms and lounges, with 2 beds on the ground floor and 2 more on the first floor.


The Restaurant and Club House are renovated fortresses: The DonWivar Restaurant was born from the restoration of the "Rocca Sir Orso", an ancient Renaissance fortress. The second building was originally the customs office at the gateway to the hamlet, with various other functions over the years. Both feature on the oldest castle plans.

Activities and surrounding

The agriturismo enjoys a unique location: over the years, the sunny setting of the Colline del Sole hills attracted ancient settlements and agricultural terracing for the olive trees and vineyards that today characterise the landscape. And within a 30 km radius you’ll also find a whole host of interesting tourist attractions.

The estate’s pine wood – today a protected area of archaeological interest – is still home to the remains of ancient dwellings, as well as a rich variety of flora and fauna. An excursion on foot or on horseback is a wonderful way to relax.
