The agriturismo

The historical guest house is in Andes, place of birth of Virgilio (Andes 15.10.70a.C-Brindisi 21.9.19d.C.), in the natural Park of the river Mincio 8km from the Mantua city centre. The residence was built on the house ruin of the poet. From 1330 it was belonging to the Gonzagas, Lord of Mantua, till their decadence. Illustrious guests stayed here, as Pope Pio Piccolomini and Isabella d'Este.

In the ancient court there are pleasant accomodation (from 2 to 4 people) endowed with double room, bath with shower, parlor and a small equipped kitchen. Breakfast with our products will be served directly in your flat.

The accommodation

In the most ancient part of the court there are six comforting autonomous flats, air-conditioned, furnished with ancient furniture, endowed with bath and small kitchen. That will grant the guests a relaxing stays. The breakfast served in apartment with milk just milked,  homemade jams, butter, jogurt and bread, will remember the old forgotten tastes. A flat is equipped for disabled.
 
Pets of small sized are admitted. There are bicycles at guests disposal for excursions on the bank of the river Mincio. While the babies have a good time in the playground, the adults can relax in the shade of great secular plants in the park. There is a football pitch. There is also the possibilty to book previous the agriturismo for dinners, ceremonies or banquets in an unique and involving atmosphere. This is a service for groups, minimum 40 people and maximum of 120.

Activities and surrounding

Since many years the farm organizes visits for the scholastic tourism being one "accredited didactic Farm". The tour includes the visit to the animal husbandry firm, to the natural reserve of the Vallazza in the Park of the Mincio and to the Gonzaga residence, with its ample saloons and gardens.
The visits can be organized for different levels: from simple didactic visits for maternal and elementary schools - with snack or breakfast to the sack - up to real animal husbandry workshop for university.

The farm is situated in a lovely setting for both the historical value of the buildings and for the beauty of nature (park and animals). The lady who hosted us was very friendly, the rooms are clean and spacious and the breakfast was fine.
