The agriturismo

Nestled in an expanse of cultivated fields, Le Corti della Gualdana agritourism is located just a stone's throw from Voghera, on the Gualdana farm. A wonderful tree-lined driveway leads to the accommodations, tastefully furnished in traditional style.

Thewelcoming environment and genuine traditional cuisine make it an ideal destination for those seeking greenery and tranquility, away from the hectic pace of the city.

Wheat and corn are the characteristic products of the farm; spelt production has also been added in recent years. Thevegetable garden grows peppers, the pride of the city of Voghera, and other vegetables, inevitable ingredients in traditional rural cuisine.

The accommodation

The agritourism was built in the buildings, Vincolati Dalla Sovrintendenza Dei Beni Architettonici, that surround the large farmyard: in the Mulberry Tree House, the old farmer's house, rooms have been obtained; in the Silkworm House where the trellises for silkworm breeding were located, there are now large spaces that can be used for parties, conferences and courses. One building still houses agricultural machinery.

The farmhouse has 6 Rooms in two different buildings. In the Casa Del Gelso (Mulberry Tree House) there are 3 large double rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning and a communal living room with a fireplace available to guests. In the nearby Foresteria of the manor house are 2 more rooms and a suite, again with private bath and a large living room where adults and children can entertain themselves in bad weather.

The rooms have en suite bathrooms, television, air conditioning and Wi-fi.

Prices include breakfast, which will be served in the breakfast room or on the porch.

Some bicycles are available to guests free of charge who can, thus, pedal along the flat roads to discover the surroundings or venture, for more challenging routes, into the hills of Oltrepo.

A bocce court allows passionate games while children can swing on theswings. And in bad weather, children can have fun in the ping-pong room.

400 m from the rooms, our Duronetta farmhouse will take care of cooking delicious lunches and dinners for guests: sitting on the outside porch under the American vine, on the small tables placed under the large beech tree or inside in the large room with a fireplace, you can taste traditional local dishes immersed in the serenity of nature.

Activities and surrounding

There are numerous activities to do on the farm and in the vicinity of the facility.

Biking: in the surroundings of the Gualdana it is possible to ride along the Voghera-Varzi Greenway bike path with bicycles, which can be rented free of charge at the facility or in the area if electric. The path is totally dedicated to bicycles, is surrounded by greenery and will allow you to stop along the way for a delicious lunch, a wine tasting or to visit Varzi and Salice Terme and perhaps stop at the pool for a swim. For the more adventurous there are numerous mountain bike trails in the hills on both asphalt and dirt roads.

Wines: it is possible to arrange wine tasting in the many wineries in the area; wines are also offered in the farmhouse restaurant.

Visiting Villages: the farmhouse can serve as a base for visiting the many villages of the Oltrepo Pavese, from Fortunago to Zavattarello with its castle and Nazzano. A visit to the hermitage ofSant'Alberto di Butrio is also recommended.

BIGBENCHES: There are 3 benches located in scenic spots surrounded by nature within a very short drive from the farmhouse.
