Surrounded by beautiful landscapes in the heart of some of Italy's premiere wine country, CasaWallace is nestled in a sunny valley just outside the historical hill town of Cremolino.
The main house has been renovated to accommodate overnight stays as well as a variety of daytime activities. A group of local artists had created the final décor. Their contribution is seen in the warmth and artistry that pervades throughout the house.
A large communal kitchen is equipped with all cooking utensils and necessities. It has been a highlight for groups seeking the unique experience of sharing in the preparation of Italian cuisine. The salon with its warm inviting atmosphere provides a quiet out of the way place for reading and repose. Each morning a healthy buffet style breakfast of natural cereals, organic jams, fresh bread, Italian crostata and fruit is served and can be enjoyed in the kitchen or salon.
There are five double rooms that can be arranged in a matrimonial or single bed format upon request. A large suite with kitchenette and dining area and an apartment are also available. All rooms have a private bath with shower.
Two large open spaces equipped with changing and shower facilities provide ideal settings for banquets, receptions, group meetings, and workshops in dance, art and education. Both spaces are bright with large windows and doors opening into the courtyard.
Take a morning walk through the vineyards and experience the lovely views of the valley's landscape. Later, enjoy an afternoon swim or near-by gardens for extra leisure and child play.
An ongoing collaboration exists between the University of Idaho Landscape Architecture Program and CasaWallace as they host large student groups with their professors for six weeks each summer. In addition to design studies, students partake in weekly classes in language, cooking & culture, for which they receive college credit. CasaWallace makes it possible for these students to stay at one location enabling them to share together in their new cultural experience. They invite groups interested in holding workshops, seminars and residencies at CasaWallace.
The Peidmonte region offers a host of activities such as castle tours, famous carnivals, horseback riding, Il Palio (famous Horse races in Asti), and specialty markets in antiques and local foods. Piemonte is most known for its fine wine and cuisine tradition. Visit local cantinas and restaurants and take in an array of regional tastes. At different times throughout the summer and fall, each town will share its food and costoms by hosting its own festival known as Sagra. A rich history exists in peidmonte as well. One can visit local museums, or the many Castles & midieval boroughs, Roman churches and sanctuaries that are spread throughout these hills.
For those seeking outdoor sport and activity, cycling in the surrounding countryside has become very popular, and area forests and rivers near Casa Wallace have places for hiking, trekking and swimming.
