The agriturismo
In the Langhe area, in the Cigliè hills, the agriturismo breeds cattle and cultivates fields and vineyards, producing excellent traditional local produce, including the famous ‘bollito di Carrù’, a variety of boiled meats.
The recent renovation of the farmhouse has created rooms in a homely, warm environment. Breakfast with fresh cow’s milk.
The accommodation
The agriturismo offers a communal kitchen, breakfast room and 5 bedrooms, all spacious and comfortable:
La Finestrella: designed for disabled guests, this has a large window and a pretty opening in the stone wall, from which guests can enjoy the view over the Piedmont Langhe area even while they are in bed.
Il Nido d’Amore: homely and basic, this room features enchanting, warm colours.
La Stanza dei Marchesi: spacious, with walls made from stone and bricks from the 18th century.
La Stanza dei Principi: with a four-poster bed and flashes of brick wall.
La Cartolina Panoramica: this is a mini apartment with a bedroom and kitchenette and enjoys a surprising view.
Activities and surrounding
Guests at the agriturismo can see the Piedmontese breed of cattle and small farm animals, and can also experience a working day in the vineyards and in the fields. Activities available include mountain biking, tennis, volleyball and bocce.
On request, excursions can be organised to the numerous local chapels and neighbouring towns rich in history and beautiful paintings dating from the 15th and 16th century. The castles in Grinzane Cavour and Barolo, in the heart of the Langhe area, can be visited at set days and times.
Easily accessible caves are the mysterious Grotta di Bossea in Corsaglia and the Grotte dei Dossi in Villanova Mondovi.
Mondovì, Alba and Vicoforte are just a few miles from the agriturismo. It takes about 30 minutes to reach Carrù, Ceva and the mountains with ski resorts (Prato Nevoso, Artesina, Lurisia, Limone Piemonte...). The Ligurian coast is also easy to reach.
