The agriturismo
Casa Scaparone Agriturismo is the oldest house in the city of Alba.
It has half a century of written history, and was the seat of the fief of Santamaria, tied to a medieval convent of the place.
Casa Scaparone stands on a hill of Alba was reborn in 2000 after a meticulous restoration. It now cultivates 15 hectares of vineyards, orchards, gardens, vegetable garden and cornfields old.
Here they produce wine, jams, preserves, flour and its derivatives, (pasta, bread), with natural methods and following the studies of agriculture anthroposophy.
Casa Scaparone is the only farm in the town of Alba to provide restaurant service along with rooms. Farmhouse restaurant is open every day of the week.
The accommodation
There are 8 guest rooms, of various types with individual characteristics.
Dinner can also be reserved in the late evening, (from 9 pm to 11 pm), especially for those coming from afar, or who want to enjoy Friday evening as a prelude to a day off.
The restaurant, open for dinner all week (except Wednesday), including Saturday and Sunday (booking required), can accommodate up to 60 people and serves traditional food, prepared using organically-farmed ingredients from the farm itself and from the village of Scaparone. A vegetarian menu and help educating children about good, healthy food is always available.A Vegan Menù is available.
Casa Scaparone is situated amongst the vineyards and orchards of the city of Alba, and produces about 8,000 bottles of wine per year, with natural, homeodynamic methods, as well as jams, preserves, flour and other products that you can buy in the farm shop.
Activities and surrounding
The agriturismo provides a shuttle service to/from Alba and if required to/from Turin Airport.
From the agriturismo, you can go on excursions in the countryside, picnics and organised trips. Alba can be reached on foot in 20 minutes and by bike in 10 minutes. Mountain bikes can be rented - booking required.
Small events, communions, confirmations and even small weddings can be easily arranged.
