Once known as “The Crucifix”, this ancient hermitage of the Franciscan monks, set on a 300 m high plateau, forms the centre of a farm of approximately 50 hectares, mainly cultivated with vineyards, olive groves and orchards.
Here guests can enjoy a breathtaking hilly landscape, sample wholesome traditional Sicilian cuisine made with fresh produce from the vegetable garden and the fragrant extra-virgin olive oil produced on the farm.
In a quiet location surrounded by nature, the house is divided into 3 apartments for families and 4 bedrooms (double/twin), all tastefully furnished and with private bathroom, looking out over the surrounding vineyards and olive groves. Guests wake up to a delicious breakfast with homemade jams.
The large garden surrounds the communal areas and leads to the swimming pool. The restaurant area boasts typical local architectural features, such as solid walls in bare stone, where traditional Sicilian dishes are served.
Besides a lounge area, where you can savour a glass of fine wine, guests are invited experience the atmosphere of times past in the Sala degli Archi, perfect for small meetings.
The accommodation facility, with its surrounding countryside, entices guests to stroll through the olive trees and vines; the beaches of Torre di Gaffe (Licata) and the wild Punta Bianca (Agrigento) are within easy reach, as well as the cliffs of the Scala dei Turchi.
Must-visits include: the Valley of the Temples, the world archaeological treasure and UNESCO heritage site since 1997; Modica and Ragusa Ibla. Piazza Armerina and its incredible mosaics is less than one hour away.
For mountain bike enthusiasts there are kilometres of wild trails that wind through the Mediterranean maquis and the woodland around the Naro dam.
