The farmhouse is located in Maranza, in the Puster Valley, a spectacular location at 1440 metres altitude which enjoys 280 days of fine weather each year.
The farmhouse is surrounded by meadows and woodland, with views stretching across the Eisack and Puster Valleys and the Dolomites.
On the farm we breed Haflinger horses and Alpaka.
The Birkenhof farm has four comfortable and modern vacation apartments with underfloor heating for 2 to 8 people.
The apartments have 2 or 3 bedrooms, spacious bathroom, living room with private balcony or terrace, fully equipped full kitchen, wireless Internet and satellite TV.
In the kitchen there are double sofa bed, a refrigerator with freezer, 4 electric glass-ceramic stove, oven, kettle, coffee maker (mocha), dishwasher, as well as dishes, cutlery and pots and pans.
Sheets, towels, kitchen cloths and detergents are available.
The region is home to a host of trails for trekking and mountain biking, suitable for both sports professionals and simple family outings with young children.
There is a wealth of fine food and wine to enjoy, as well as well-maintained cycle tracks from Rio di Pusteria to San Candido. Why not explore the Puster Valley by bicycle, then catch the train back again? In summer guests can take advantage of the Almencard Plus, which allows them to use all South Tyrol public transport totally free of charge, as well as enjoying free entry to 80 museums, and free use of the Plose, Gitschberg and Jochtal cable cars.
In winter the Maranza-Gitschberg-Jochtal, Plan de Corones, Plose and Val Gardena ski resorts are ideal for downhill and cross-country skiing, as well as snowboarding, sledging, snowshoe excursions, climbing, curling, ice skating, and dog sledding.
