The Gasserhof in St. Leonhard close to Brixen lies on the slopes of the Plose mountain above the Brixen basin.
Th farm is well away from the town and busy roads and set in wonderful natural surroundings. Children can play here in safety, experience nature up close and personal, gather valuable life experience and learn a lot.
The well-appointed rooms (two, three and four beds) , are all equipped with a shower/WC and balcony for a wonderful panoramic view.
If you need one, we will be happy to make a cot available for your child.
On a morning you can enjoy a vitamin-filled, healthy farm breakfast in our dining room, with our own milk, homemade jams and vegetables from the garden.
South Tyrolean delicacies and Italian specialities await you here at the Gasserhof.
Our kitchen will treat you to local dishes, such as cheese dumplings, goulash, apple strudel and Italian dishes such as spaghetti Bolognese, lasagne or Ossobuco.
Depending on the season we refine our dishes with produce from our vegetable and herb garden.
As a base, the Gasserhof offers you plenty of opportunities for enjoying your leisure time.
Hikers will find plenty to keep them occupied on the nearby Plose mountain. An easy trip takes you by cable car from the village of St. Andrä up into the mountains as far as Kreuztal. From there in about an hour you can take the gently climbing path to the Ross Alp. This route provides fantastic panoramic views, and is a wonderful stroll on the mountain. Once you arrive at the Ross Alp, there’s a thrilling playground for your children and you can enjoy a tasty lunch or a hearty Marende snack on the sun terrace while keeping an eye on the kids.
For more challenging walks you can start directly from the farm and hike to the Plose via farmland and the Ochsen Alp. And you can always use cable car to get home!
Mountaineering enthusiasts should take in sunrise on the Peitler mountain. To do this, start early in the morning and head via Afers to the Würzjoch and then scale the peak of the 2,875 m high mountain. When you get there you’ll be rewarded with a wonderful view of the Dolomites, the Gader Valley and the Zillertal and Ötztal Alps.
