Antica Quercia Verde is situated at an enjoyable walking distance (20 minutes uphill) from the town centre, in the most beautiful heritage listed area that surrounds Cortona. Our agriturismo offers three elegant Tuscan cottages recently renovated for guests that would like to experience a relaxing yet inspiring holiday in a very private location. You will appreciate the spectacular countryside of Tuscany, relax in the swimming pool and have the possibility to enjoy meals outside as each cottage has its own alfresco dining area, whilst enjoying the views of Cortona, its Etruscan walls and its Renaissance churches.

The agriturismo Antica Quercia Verde, on the most beautiful hillside of Cortona, offers three different types of accommodation in historical stone buildings that have been recently refurbished respecting our local traditions and materials. Two self-contained cottages, villas for rent, each with their own private entrance, fully equipped kitchen and private outdoor area, barbecue and pergola. We also offer a small cottage with a private entrance, queen size bed, bathroom and personal barbecue near a large outdoor area. Each space has been designed and refurbished to offer relaxation and privacy. Just a few steps away from your cottage is the in ground swimming pool with a pergola for relaxing whilst enjoying breathtaking views on the cottages over the valley. Not too far away from the pool there is an outdoor area with a play ground for children.

Il Gonfianuvole is a Tuscan cottage with views over the valley, Cortona and a parcel of our estate named Gonfianuvole. Gonfianuvole catering for four people (+1) has been designed to offer you a relaxing and inspiring holiday. It features a fully equipped functional kitchen with dishwasher and dining area, an elegant Italian “stanza matrimoniale” - queen size bed, a double bedroom that can be transformed into a “matrimoniale” and a bathroom. Outdoors this cottage is equipped with an old stone barbecue, a private gazebo where you can relax, enjoy a good wine and have dinner al fresco with a view over the valley and Cortona.

Il Risveglio is a typical Tuscan cottage that can cater for two adults (+1). Its name can be translated in English into “awakening”, it faces the sunrise and it has been fully refurbished with typically Tuscan materials and redesigned to offer you everything that is necessary for a romantic holiday. This cottage features a fully equipped functional kitchen with dishwasher and dining area, a queen size bedroom, tasteful bathroom and sofa bed. It is perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing holiday in a very special place. Outdoor Il Risveglio has a private old stone built barbecue with an area for al fresco dining and views of the valley and Cortona. Just a few steps away there is the swimming pool and a larger shared gazebo.

Facing west La Fonte, our quaint little cottage offers a view of the sunset and the olives. Its name comes from the old spring that was used by the contadini for centuries as the main source of water. It has a private entrance, a queen size bed, bathroom and a small old style “madia” a typical piece of Tuscan furniture where families used to keep bread that has been adapted into a micro kitchenette with small fridge and induction cook top. It is not suitable for guests that want to cook elaborate dishes, but is functional for preparing a light meal. Outdoors this cottage features a private barbecue and a private area for dining al fresco. Just a few steps away there are the swimming pool and gazebo. La Fonte is our smaller offer and can cater for only two guests, designed to offer a relaxing holiday for two in Cortona. For larger groups of four (+1) this cottage can be offered with Il Risveglio.

We organise a weekly visit of our farm where we can talk together about our oil and saffron production and more importantly give you insight into some of the local flora and fauna, showing you the herbs and seeds that we collect and how we use them. We can help you arrange many outdoor activities, with a qualified personal trainer to re-energise you during your holiday, or a qualified yoga teacher to help make your holiday even more relaxing. We can also help you organise a horse riding excursion in the hills that surround us. For the lovers of art and history, Italy and its 49 UNESCO world heritage sites is the first destination.

The region of Tuscany has the highest number of sites per province, making Tuscany’s artistic heritage simply unique. From Antica Quercia Verde you can easily reach many amazing places including the following attractions: Cortona, Montepulciano, Pienza, Lake Trasimen, Siena, Assisi. We are on the CAI Tuscany (Club Alpino Italiano) track n° 563. This track can be continued to the track CAI n° 50 that eventually becomes the track GEA n°50 (Grande Escursione Appenninica). Our farm stay is the perfect base for lovers of trekking and mountain biking; you will have the opportunity to enjoy many days of beautiful adventures and discoveries immersed in a pristine, natural landscape.
