In the beautiful Val di Chiana, near Cortona, Arezzo, Lucignano, the farmhouse stands at the center of a 50-hectare farm.
The typical stone farmhouse from the late 1700s has been renovated respecting the original style: it has so well preserved its old charm that it was chosen as the set for the RAI film "Per una notte d'amore."
The farm produces durum wheat, corn and sunflowers. In addition to the wine produced in the small vineyard, the flagship of the farm is theolive grove with various cultivars such as moraiolo and leccino; theoil produced at the 5 Colli di Lucignano cooperative oil mill boasts European IGP certification. The agriturismo offers tastings of wine, oil, cheeses, cured meats and herbal teas.
Gabriele, the owner, is also a herbalist and pharmacist.
The typical Tuscan farmhouse, nestled in the countryside near Cortona, Arezzo and the medieval towns of Val di Chiana, is still furnished with the family's original antique furniture.
It has 6 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 living rooms, a dining room and 2 equipped kitchens.
It is possible to book theentire villa for exclusive use by groups and families, or just the rooms with breakfast.
Outside, guests will have a large garden with barbecue, pine forest and panoramic swimming pool for the exclusive use of guests.
Also available is a typical Tuscan hall for events (weddings, graduation parties, baptisms, communions, etc.) for about 40 people. The latter will also be for the exclusive use of those who book the entire villa.
The property offers free Wi-Fi, use of mountain bikes, digital travel guide of the Val di Chiana (navigable by tablet and smartphone) and, for single room guests, a hearty continental breakfast is included.
The tobacconist's shop is a communal area 5/6m from the colonial house, converted from a former barn with pool table.
Catering for weddings is available upon request and for an additional fee.
With the bikes available, it is possible to visit the most picturesque villages of the Val di Chiana; reachable by car instead are the towns of Cortona, Arezzo, Lucignano, Montepulciano, Pienza, Siena, and Florence.
Tastings of wine, cured meats, cheeses, homemade jam and oil, and herbal teas are available by reservation only.
The Val di Chiana also offers numerous recreational opportunities for both nature lovers, sports enthusiasts or those who love to discover the most charming corners of the thousands of historic villages surrounding the valley. In particular, the following are available:
