The agriturismo

The small village of Fattoria Pogni is located in the heart of Chianti, between Florence and Siena. Enclosed by stone walls, it can be reached along a dirt road through vineyards and olive groves. The historical centre, dating back to the 14th century, includes two farmhouses and a barn used as a holiday farm, a manor house inhabited by the owner and the wine cellar. Below the farmhouses are the ancient cellars still used today for aging wines. Silence and peace are the peculiar characteristics of this ancient and solitary village immersed in one of the most beautiful valleys of Chianti.

The accommodation

Farmhouse located in the heart of Chianti, halfway between Siena and Florence, with sport amenities and a marble pool. Wine tastings and visits to the wine cellars, cooking classes, private dinners are available on site. Fattoria Pogni has 1 Deluxe Villa and 6 exclusive apartments, all finely restored, each one different from the other, furnished with taste and attention to details: Tuscan antique furniture, part of the internal walls in exposed stone, ceilings in chestnut beams and bricks in Florentine terracotta, handmade Florentine terracotta floors. Staying in Villa Gelsomino you will enjoy all the pleasures of living an experience in Chianti, in a luxurious and comfortable environment, located in the center of our medieval village. With its four rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom with shower, this villa is certainly the largest and most comfortable accommodation facility of the entire Fattoria Pogni Resort. The apartments are equipped with all comforts: air conditioning, single heating, LCD TV with satellite connection and sky programs, safe, microwave oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, mosquito nets on all windows, WiFi internet connection. All apartments have a private courtyard with a wrought iron table and chairs. A separate laundry room is available in a separate room.

Activities and surrounding

In the outdoor areas, dominated by meadows and olive groves, there is a large swimming pool in travertine marble (20 x 8 m) with entrance to the beach and beautiful views of the valley and the surrounding hills, grass soccer field, synthetic grass tennis court, grass volleyball court, table tennis. Inside one of the houses is the gym. Areas equipped with outdoor furniture to design relaxation areas, two furnished gazebos, farmyards paved in handmade Florentine terracotta, an ancient stone well to draw water and ancient agricultural tools exposed along paths bordered by aromatic plants typical of Tuscany, complete the outdoor spaces of the village. The solarium of the pool has a large veranda to rest in the shade. Possibility to visit the wine cellar and taste wines in the ancient cellars used, today as in the past, for the aging of wine. In the immediate vicinity of the village of Pogni are available the following services: grocery, bar, bank and post office 1 km, supermarket 5 km, riding stables 4 km, lake for fishing 4 km, hot air balloon flight 5 km, golf 30 km. The strategic position makes Fattoria Pogni an excellent starting point for excursions and visits to the main places of interest in Tuscany, including: Florence 33 km, Siena 42 km, Pisa 75 km, Lucca 70 km, Volterra 44 km, San Gimignano 22 km, Certaldo 11 km, Barberino Val d'Elsa 7 km, Monteriggioni 28 km.
