The agriturismo

Father and son Fabrizio and Massimiliano Piersanti run this farm, set in the heart of the Maremma and just 4 km from the sea, with passion: the first looks after the cattle and the plantations (fodder, vines, etc.) and the second looks after hospitality; both make sure guests have a comfortable and interesting holiday, thanks also to the educational activities offered by the farm.

The accommodation

The old animal sheds, dating back to 1920, today host 10 bedrooms for guests and have their original wooden beams. The accommodation units, all with private bathroom and garden entrance, include double bedrooms with extra beds if needed, one-room apartments and larger apartments. There is a kitchen to serve every 2-3 bedrooms, accessible from an internal door, with table, and with bedroom having its own numbered storage space, its own fridge and its own table on the veranda.

 

The large garden offers a fine view of Chianina cattle grazing in the pastures, and there are lounge areas with awnings, hammocks and flowers, fruit trees, vegetable garden, barbecue, pizza oven, olive grove, and educational courses about the animals and farm activities.

Activities and surrounding

Close to the main attractions of the Maremma, the farm stands in an area worth exploring on foot or by bike, between a barbecue, a nap on the hammock and a relaxing read in the garden. Besides helping Fabrizio to feed the animals, guests can also go to Talamone, today a popular destination for kite-surfers, and the Maremma Nature Park, the bays of Argentario and Orbetello lagoon, not to mention also the islands of Giglio and Giannutri, the Tarot Garden and lots of villages where guests can sample local food and wine.
