Podere Donzellino is located on the crest of the hill of Massa Marittima, the main historical centre of the high Tuscan Maremma, not far from the town centre, at an altitude of 400 metres. The property covers 23 hectares, mostly woodland and Mediterranean scrub and 5 hectares of olive groves. Its construction, the typical Tuscan farmhouse, is already mentioned in the Leopoldino land register at the end of 1700 and is indicated in old cartographic prints.
At Donzellino the guest is warmly welcomed in a familiar and safe place. The structure is therefore also the ideal place for smartworking needs .
In recent years the owners have carefully restored thefarmhouse to adapt itto the needs of modern life, respecting the traditional building systems in order to recover the atmosphere of the past. In the large stable there is a large room for the reception and various activities such as the tasting of olive oil and products of the farm. Here the old tools of the peasant life have been collected and testimonies of the oil production activity.
In a large fenced-in area there is a swimming pool (without chlorine, 15x6,5 mt.) that allows you to swim and relax without going to the sea, which can be reached in 20 minutes.
In the barn there are two twin apartments(Olive and Lavanda) of about 50 square metres with a living room with sofa bed, kitchenette, double bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and includes a dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave oven. The colours of the furniture are inspired by the name of the apartment. Outside a private garden is partly paved for dining table and barbecue.
From the old sheepfold the Casa dei Limoni has been obtainedwith aliving room with sofa bed, kitchen, double bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped and includes dishwasher, refrigerator and microwave oven. Outside there is a large veranda and enclosed garden. The Casa dei LimoniKing also includes a new building in the garden with bedroom and bathroom.
Where the chicken coop was, the Rose House was built , surrounded by a beautiful garden. On the ground floor living room with sofa bed, kitchen with refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave oven, double bedroom, bathroom; on the first floor double bedroom and bathroom. A comfortable veranda allows you to live outdoors.
All apartments have a bathroom with shower and hairdryer, mosquito nets on the windows, free WiFi, heating and safe. Each unit is independent and has its own private fenced garden to ensure social distancing in COVID time and offer privacy and tranquility in its large spaces .
Our cleaning staff is equipped with personal protective equipment and carries out a special and meticulous sanitization with specific products in the houses, reception area and pool.

Besides the relax offered by our beautiful swimming pool surrounded by olive groves and Mediterranean flora, you can go to the sea, with beautiful beaches and cliffs, playing sports like hiking, biking, golf, horseback riding and visiting medieval villages without forgetting the pleasures of food and wine .
Tours from Massa Marittima wind through a number of medieval villages with their castles, fortresses, churches and monasteries touching important Etruscan settlements. Already heading down to the sea, you can go along "Lago dell'Accesa", you can swim in this lake that adjoins the Archaeological Park with the remains of an old Etruscan home.
But the most striking thing is the nature: woodlands and thick pine stands that extend from the mountains down to the sea, the clear sea water, parks and protected oases that alternate with cultivated fields, vineyards and olive groves, lots of thermal spas make this land of Tuscany unique.
Massa Marittima is mainly known for its square, a medieval architectural marvel overlooked by the Gothic-Romanesque cathedral; but its medieval centre closed in by high walls is just as beautiful.
Don’t miss the Palio del Girifalco: an old crossbow competition accompanied by flag-wavers and historical procession.
The sea is edged with long rocky bluffs that have been cut out by the wind and by the waves, as well as gentle beaches in welcoming spots: Punta Ala and Cala Violina (the first of the top eleven beaches in Italy), Castiglione della Pescaia, Argentario and the Etruscan Coast with the spectacular Baratti Gulf. The islands of the Tuscan archipelago are easy to get to: from Piombino you can land on the island of Elba in less than one hour. There are lots of thermal spas (Saturnia, Petriolo, Venturina), where you can relax and tone up at the end of the day or during your visits and tours.

The farm of Donzellino is specialized in the production of extra virgin olive oil of high quality. The olive grove is composed of about 1500 plants , typical Tuscan varieties: frantoio,leccino,moraiolo and pendolino. The great care for plants, accurate harvesting and pressing olives within 24 hours yield an oil with low acidity, balanced fruit, erbal tones and hint of artichoked.
