The agriturismo

The farmhouse was born from the renovation of a typical Maremma house from the 1950s. The structure stands on top of a hill from which it is possible to appreciate the variety of colors that the Tuscan countryside can offer at any time of the year. Silence, peace, the harmony of birdsong and the pleasant scents of nature are the rulers of this small kingdom, an ideal place for those seeking relaxation and tranquility.

The business is conducted on a strictly family basis, and the rich breakfast is served in the spacious living room. The products are homemade or purchased locally from trusted producers.

The accommodation

Agriturismo Il Fontanile was born in 2002 from the renovation of a typical Maremma house of the 1950s. The structure stands on the top of a hill from which it is possible to appreciate the variety of colors that the Tuscan countryside can offer at any time of the year. Silence, peace, the harmony of birdsong and the pleasant scents of nature are the rulers of our little kingdom, an ideal place for those seeking relaxation and tranquility. The activity is conducted on a strictly family level: the preparation of breakfasts (with the famous "grandmother Erina's" tarts, baked daily), the reception, the maintenance of the garden, the agricultural activities and all the services offered are taken care of directly by the owners.

The structure consists of 6 rooms, 5 double and one single furnished according to the Maremma tradition. All rooms have private bathrooms, SMART TV, air conditioning and independent heating. All units located on the upper floor have a balcony from which you can enjoy beautiful sunsets. Also the rooms located on the ground floor and the annex have an outdoor space on which to spend relaxing moments accompanied dii sounds of nature.

Breakfast is the real pride and joy of the farmhouse. In the Maremma peasant tradition, the morning meal was the most important of the day and often the most abundant. We do our best to ensure that our guests start their day just as our grandparents did. Breakfast of cold meats, cheeses, jams, honey, bruschetta and the famous tarts with Grandma Erina's secret recipes are served in the spacious common room. All products are homemade, homegrown and purchased strictly from local farms.

Activities and surrounding

The strategic location of the farmhouse allows you to reach in less than 30 minutes the most beautiful beaches of Maremma (Capalbio, La Feniglia, Monte Argentario, the beach of the park of Maremma, cala di Forno) in addition to the thermal baths of Saturnia and the main places of historical, scenic and cultural interest such as Capalbio, The Garden of Tarot Cards, the ancient city of Cosa and Magliano in Tuscany. In 45 minutes you can reach Pitigliano, Sovana and the archaeological park of Vulci.

Our facility offers its guests the opportunity to discover the most beautiful corners of Maremma with free day or evening excursions. All excursions will be led by guides associated with AIGAE (Italian Association of Environmental Hiking Guides).
For organizational reasons, and in order to offer the best service, there is a maximum number of participants for each excursion, so a reservation is necessary.
