The agriturismo
The agriturismo opened in 1998 on the Santa Maria organic farm, which raises livestock and practices extensive farming onits 50 hectares of land.
The building has ancient origins and is set in the Val di Cornia countryside. Its family atmosphere provides guests with a sense of peace.
The accommodation
The agriturismo offers apartments furnished in country style with spacious sitting room, equipped kitchen, bathroom and double bedroom.
The Grano apartment, with wooden beamed ceilings and glass doors leading to the garden, and the Girasole apartment, with a stone fireplace in the sitting room and vaulted ceiling, are both on the ground floor; Edera and Glicine, large and bright with a view of Campiglia Marittima and the garden, are on the first floor. Biancospino and Agave are apartments separated from the complex and currently being renovated.
The laundry room can be used by guests who stay from more than one week, while the outdoor area includes a covered car park, barbecue, children’s playground, gazebo with tables and chairs where guests can relax and dine outdoors. The small pinewood offers shade and fresh clean air.
The small church devoted to St. Joseph offers the chance to gather in prayer and meditation.
Activities and surrounding
A short drive takes you to the splendid Baratti Gulf, the most beautiful beaches on the coast (Rimigliano Park, Sterpaia Park, San Vincenzo and Punta Falcone, Buca delle Fate), the dog beaches of Sterpaia and Rimigliano, the spas of Venturina, shopping centres and the nature parks.
The ferry for Elba Island departs from Piombino and boats leave from San Vincenzo for day trips to the Tuscan Archipelago.
Follonica and Cecina are home to aqua parks, while in Marina di Donoratico there is the Cavallino Matto fun park. There are festivals held in the villages of Campiglia Marittima and Suvereto, and bars and clubs for young people in San Vincenzo and Follonica.
The agriturismo is also an educational farm with a chicken coop, two lovely goats, four Toulouse geese and two Monte Amiata donkeys.
