The agriturismo
Typical Tuscan agriturismo run by the owners for many years. The ideal place for those who want to take a break and a point of departure for participating in coastal life or for nature excursions.
The accommodation
The agriturismo consists of three farmhouses:
Casale Santa Giulia: nestled in a pine and mimosa forest, one kilometre from the sea, this is home to type G apartments (double bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, garden or terrace) or type P apartments (double bedroom/kitchen, bathroom, terrace near the apartment).
Casale Francianina: for people who like to live in the countryside with the greatest freedom, this is home to apartments with one, two or three bedrooms.
Casale Banditelle: a former grand-ducal coaching inn, this is a simple and inexpensive place to stay and is home to apartments or rooms with bathroom served by a communal kitchen.
The agriturismo has a swimming pool, bocce green, ping pong table and fitness trail among the olive trees. Mountain bike excursions to the surrounding area are possible.
Guests have access to a library inside the agriturismo with about 400 titles (divided into the categories “fiction”, “kids” and “local area”).
Activities and surrounding
The farmhouses are close to the sea in the Gulf of Follonica and the Gulf of Baratti. Less than twenty minutes by car takes you to the medieval towns of Massa Marittima, Campiglia Marittima and Suvereto, as well as Bolgheri, with its impressive avenue of cypresses and famous red wines. A two hour drive takes you to cities of art such as Pisa, Siena, Florence and Volterra. You can buy vegetables and extra virgin olive oil at the agriturismo.
