The agriturismo
In Torcigliano, in a verdant area 15 min. from Lucca and 20 min. from Versilia, the agritourism A Casa del Tosi has been family-run for four generations and offers direct contact with nature and the cultural and enogastronomic traditions of the place.
Honey, jams, oil,wine, fruit and vegetables are produced on the estate, and mushrooms and chestnuts are harvested.
The family environment and a comfortable swimming pool allow relaxing vacations surrounded by greenery. For the more adventurous, it is possible to participate in riding lessons at the riding school with which the farmhouse collaborates.
The accommodation
In the old building, which has been completely renovated, there are 3 apartments for guests and one for the owners.
In the renovated old cellar it is possible to have breakfast.
Each apartment has a small story.
Two guests can stay in the Barbagianni, where originally there was a stable and barn.
The Gallo apartment was once the home of laborers, and can accommodate up to five guests.
Finally in the La Filanda apartment, where silk was spun in the early 1900s, up to 4 guests can be accommodated.
Activities and surrounding
Guests can take walks or bike rides in the peaceful countryside and surrounding woods, or travel to the renowned cities of Tuscany.
Lucca, 13 km away, flaunts a historic center rich in works of art, churches, museums, and charming streets where you can shop. A 30-minute drive away is Pisa with its leaning tower, and an hour's drive away is Florence with its museums and numerous works of art.
Garfagnana, on the other hand, is an ideal mountainous area for nature lovers: in addition to small, quaint towns, you can enter the Orecchiella Park, where bears and wolves dwell, among other animals.
A few kilometers from the farmhouse, you can visit Puccini's birthplace, reach the Versilia sea and visit Pietrasanta, an art town where artists exhibit their works under the open sky.
The agriturismo benefits from an agreement with the spas of Grotta Giusti and Bagni di Pisa, which can be reached in less than an hour by car.

Antonella was the best host. Giving us lots of tips and making sure we were confortable. The house itself is beautiful. Still keeps the old appearance but facilities are all up to date. Shower was better than many other modern hotels I stayed.
