The agriturismo
The farm in local stone is surrounded by a large garden with swimming pool and shaded terrace, where you can relax charmed by the soft surrounding hills covered with woods, vineyards and olive groves. Agriturismo Fattoria di Statiano is strategically located just a stone's throw from Volterra and less than 30 minutes from the sea and the Tuscan coast and only 30 minutes from the A12 highway, one hour from Pisa airport.
We are an organic farm, growing cereals, a vineyard of Sangiovese, Vermentino, Ansonica and Canajolo.
In 2023 we received a medal from the prestigious Merano competition for our sur lie wine. We organize by reservation, tastings, and pasta workshops. We are producers of extra virgin olive oil.
The accommodation
Double Room
Located on the ground floor, it has an area of 16 m2. and access to the shared outdoor area, shaded and equipped with tables and chairs. The bathroom has a shower, bidet, hairdryer and courtesy set. The services offered include the breakfast buffet served in the breakfast room, mosquito nets on the windows, LCD TV, kettle with a selection of teas, Nescafé and our welcome kit, with fresh fruit and a bottle of our wine with two glasses to taste it.
Superior Room
The Superior Rooms are located on the first floor and have an area of 23 m2. and have a shared outdoor area shaded and equipped with table and chairs. The bathroom has a shower, bidet, hairdryer and courtesy set. LCD TV, mosquito nets, kettle with a choice of teas, Nescafé, welcome kit with a bottle of our wine and two glasses are among the services offered. The buffet breakfast served in the breakfast room is included.
Triple Room
The Triple Room is located on the first floor and has a shared outdoor area shaded and equipped with table and chairs. The bathroom has a shower, bidet, hairdryer and courtesy set. LCD TV, mosquito nets, kettle with a choice of teas, Nescafé, welcome kit with a bottle of our wine and two glasses are among the services offered. The buffet breakfast served in the breakfast room is included.
Three-room Apartment
The Three-room Apartments have been designed to offer families a carefree holiday. Located on the ground floor of the outbuilding, they have an area of 60 m2. and offer a double bedroom, a twin bedroom, a living room with equipped kitchen complete with oven, a bathroom with shower, bidet, hairdryer and courtesy set of products. Outside, a private shaded area equipped with table, chairs and barbecue allows you to dine al fresco. Inside you will find the LCD TV, mosquito nets on all the windows, floor fans, iron and ironing board, broom, mop with bucket, kettle with a selection of teas, Nescafé and our welcome kit with a bottle of our wine.
Superior Three-room Apartment
Located in the main building of the farmhouse, the Superior Three-Room Apartments develop their 70 sq. m. on two floors and offer a double bedroom with en suite bathroom and a double bedroom where a third bed can be added with a supplement. On the ground floor we have the fully equipped kitchen complete with oven and the living room with LCD TV. On the first floor we have the bedrooms and the second bathroom, also with shower, bidet, hairdryer and courtesy set. The services offered include mosquito nets on all windows, a private and shaded outdoor area, furnished with table and chairs, barbecue, fans on pedestals, table and iron, broom, mop with bucket, kettle with selection of teas, Nescafé and our welcome kit with a bottle of our own wine.
Activities and surrounding
Statiano is 18 km from the turreted, medieval city of Volterra, an unexpected little jewel of civilization and art.Also, in the streets of the center, there are small workshops of gold, alabaster and handmade paper. Volterra e full of restaurants, wine shops - among which we mention the " Vena di Vino" and " Volaterra", as weel as - " La sosta del Priore" and "Chich and choch" and historic pastry shops .
Statiano is only 5 minutes' drive from a small village where you can find almost everything: a bank, the post, the bus to Cecina and Volterra, a very good bakery, 2 bars the butcher, a tennis court and a large sport club when in July and August there is a very popular event and you can have dinner here every evening.
The farm is located in the heart of the metalliferous hills, bordering the Monterufoli Nature Reserve, where in spring and autumn many treks are organized with environmental guides. Another beautiful place always along the seafront is Castiglioncello overlooking the sea, where you can enjoy a delicious snack in the bar right in the main square. You should not miss Bolgheri with its very famous wines and eat at "Tognoni" wine shop.or S. Gimignano that is less than an hour's drive. Longobard villages such as Montegemoli, famous in the province for its wood-baked bread, is 15 minutes away. For those who love music and concerts, just 9 kilometers away there is the charming castle of Querceto, where every evening in July and August its square is enlivened by concerts by young artists and tango .... As well as we welcome the guests, we take care of the crops, we run the courses.
It was a desire to to keep the family business alive which led me to run an agriturismo.
