The agriturismo

At the old farmhouse, located in the Cecina Valley in the heart of Tuscany, you can treat yourself to relaxing vacations on an organic farm where animal husbandry alternates with the cultivation of cereals, orchards and olive groves.

The products are expertly processed by the owners for guests at the restaurant on the farm (meats, vegetables, cheeses, fresh pasta and desserts).

The accommodation

The renovated farmhouse is located within the organic farm of about 37 ha cultivated with arable land (durum wheat and other cereals) and left to woodland (Mediterranean vegetation), where you can go for walks and meet wild animals that roam freely in their natural habitat.

Sheep, pigs and chickens are mainly raised.

The farmhouse consists of 5 comfortable apartments furnished with traditional Tuscan furniture: 3 three-room apartments of about 70/75sqm, a two-room apartment of 50sqm and a one-room apartment of 40sqm. Each apartment has a kitchenette equipped with all utensils, bedrooms with extra beds and bathroom and veranda or outdoor space. Some apartments have a large fireplace.

Outside, guests can enjoy the barbecue, equipped with wood, parking , and a large relaxation area in which the swimming pool (12.5 x 6.45) and many outdoor games for children are set.

In front of the garden stands the imposing large holm oak, a centuries-old tree, the symbol of the farm, somewhat ruined by snow and bad weather but always evocative: under its shade it is always a pleasure to read a book or admire the Tuscan landscape.

Activities and surrounding

It is possible to wander into the farm grounds on foot, for pleasant walks or to observe the plants and flowers characteristic of an area on the border between the Mediterranean and continental climates.

Also within the property are a pond, anold charcoal kiln, now no longer in use, and excavations of alabaster, the typical Pomarancina modeling stone.

You can also engage in trekking-horseback riding, with sporting haveraners, accompanied by a certified equestrian guide, for adults and children
. In addition, guests can take part in farm activities, such as cheese making or milking cattle (at appropriate times of the year).

Francesco and Daniele are always available to make guests participate in organic farming systems as well. With Pietrina, you can take courses in typical Tuscan and Sardinian cooking.

In the beautiful area of the Val di Cecina you can visit cities of culture and ancient history, such as Volterra, San Gimignano and Pomarance, the nearest town, and no less important is a visit to Larderello and its surroundings to discover geothermal energy (transformation into clean energy). Or the ancient villages in the surrounding area, or the coast, which is 30 km away(Cecina, Castiglioncello, Vada, S. Vincenzo and Populonia with the Gulf of Baratti, where there are many Etruscan remains, Follonica).

Of course, you can also visit the very famous cities such as Pisa, Florence, Siena, Lucca (from an hour to an hour and a half away).
