The Villa di Scopicci is located in the municipality of Volterra and is about 10 km from the ancient Etruscan city. Volterra can be reached by car in about ten minutes. The villa, the heart of the whole farm, is a large country residence, originally belonged to the noble Campani family, as still attested by the stone coat of arms that stands on the main door.
Its construction dates back to the 18th century and reflects the architectural and decorative style of the 18th century. The atmosphere that you breathe there is of great familiarity and simplicity in this underlined by the friendly and always cordial welcome of Marisa and her children Anna and Carlo.
The enchanting landscape that surrounds it, dominated by nature and a silence, interrupted only by birdsong, is composed of woods and meadows characterized by the typical Tuscan vegetation of cypresses, holm oaks, oaks and brooms. The curious name of the villa derives from the presence in the area of plants that were once used to make brooms for domestic cleaning. Recommended are walks in the woods and at the nearby Nera waterfalls. A 10-minute drive away is Volterra, with its artistic evidence ranging from the Etruscan period onwards. Another 20 minutes' drive will take you to San Gimignano, famous for its towers. About 45 minutes from Siena and just over an hour from Florence.
