The agriturismo

The farmhouse with swimming pool La Canonica is located in a panoramic and quiet position, between 2 very special territories: the Crete Senesi and the Valdorciavicino, near cities such as Montalcino, Pienza, Montepulciano and Siena. Ideal for a relaxing vacation, in contact with the natural beauty of these places, with art and culture at hand. On request possibiitlà of visits to the winery and tastings.


From mid-October until the end of the year we organize the search for white truffles with the dog in the farm's truffle ground, at the return lunch with a tasting menu based on truffles and Orcia wines (reservation required). In spring you can collect wild herbs and use them in the kitchen.

The accommodation

The family-run farmhouse offers its guests the opportunity to stay in 4 apartments, with a total of 15 beds.

 

The apartments are comfortable and furnished in Tuscan style, all have equipped kitchenette, spacious rooms, bathroom with shower, private table on the garden.

 

At guests' disposal barbecue, garden beds, mini-bar, use of washing machine and ironing facilities.

 

The villa is surrounded by greenery with a swimming pool open from late May to late September. Next to the farmhouse is the winery where the owners produce excellent Orcia wines as well as oil and honey. The winery has a tasting room and direct sales, a large terrace where tastings and moments of meeting with guests are held.

 

Also available to guests is a private truffle farm, where by reservation a truffle search is organized with guests who wish to do so, followed by a tasting.

Activities and surrounding

Inside the farmhouse you can participate in various activities including: tasting and buying the farm products, wine, oil, honey, spelt, truffles, wild herbs, accompanied by products from other nearby farms; visiting the winery, attending the grape harvest, participating in the olive harvest or searching for truffles.

 

Near the farmhouse are several spas, and the main art cities in the area-Pienza, Montalcino, Cortona and Siena-are easily reached by car.

To visit: Truffle Museum in San Giovanni d'Asso, Fortress of Montalcino, Abbey of S.Antimo and Monte Oliveto Maggiore, the thermal bathsin Bagno Vignoni, or in Rapolano .... the weekly markets in the various villages.

The area is also rich in events and festivals to attend, such as the famous White Truffle Exhibition Market in November, the new oil festival also in November in San Giovanni d'Asso, the valdarbia festival in October, and numerous concerts in July and August. It is also possible to book a romantic hot air balloon ride in the area. An outlet store is located in Foiano della Chiana .
