The agriturismo
Situated only 9 km north of Siena, the agritourism centre is a small, family-run organic farm, with 6 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, set in the green countryside of Monte Maggio, with wonderful views, surrounded by woods, olive groves, vineyards and meadows.
Restaurant where guests can enjoy traditional food made using typical organic Tuscan products.
Natural cooking, organic food and products, Tuscan traditions, environmental friendly, Km 0 make up the pleasure of sitting down at a table that unites quality, wellbeing and flavor to enjoy the nature in the green Tuscan hills.
The accommodation
The stone construction, dating back to the Middle Ages, has been converted with particular attention to preserving the original architecture. The same care has been dedicated to the interiors, furnished in a traditional farmhouse style.
We offer hospitality in six confortable double rooms, refurbished in accordance with our tradition. The rooms are warm and cosy, with typical rustic furniture. Each has its own flavour. In La Rosa bedroom, for example, the old cow feeder is now the bed headboard.
Upon request, you can avail of an additional bed. There is the possibility of adjoining rooms for families or groups.
Guests can also rent a delightful independent apartment composed by 3 bedrooms all with private bathroom, kitchen/dining room, living room and private garden. Elegantly restructured, it overlooks the vineyard and surrounding fields.
In the large dining hall, housed in what was once the hay barn, guests can enjoy Tuscan country cooking prepared by expert hands, based on traditional recipes and flavours, respecting the uses and tastes of the past. Pride of place goes to vegetables, pulses and grains, alongside meat dishes, flavoured with the herbs that grow wild in the area.
Every evening, guests may also delight in different recipes so as to try, during their stay, a vast variety of Tuscan dishes, prepared using organic products from the farm or selected from local producers.
Dinner is served in front of the fireplace, in the spacious and inviting hall, or under the portico, on warm summer nights.
The organic buffet style breakfast is also rich and quite tasty, with homemade sweets, fruit salads, fresh cheese and ricotta, jams, grains, and much more.
Upon request we also organize typical Tuscan and vegetarian cooking classes to understand their secrets. The kitchen is closed on Sundays.
In the large garden was created a pool (6x4) in a converted tank for the collection of rainwater. Equipped with sun loungers and deck chairs to relax in the peaceful natural surroundings.
The guests can also take advantage of ping pong, a basketball hoop, table football, a court for playing bowls and wireless internet connection.
