The agriturismo
The family-run farm is located in Caligiana, an ancient village about 500 m above sea level situated on the Umbrian hills between Lake Trasimeno and Perugia. It spreads over about 70 hectares with olive groves, pastures, woods, vegetable gardens and an orchard.
The accommodation
In the 19th century farmhouse, there are some apartments, the dining room and a classroom for the educational farm. Two more apartments are located in a small but pretty separate building, once used as a rural outbuilding.
Guests can also use the swimming pool and bocce court. The property is also an agri-campsite with campervan pitches with light and water connections.
The riding centre holds basic riding and equestrian training courses. The farm produces extra virgin olive oil, preserves, jams, cheeses, sausages, cured products and meat.
Activities and surrounding
The area is rich in itineraries for mountain biking or one- or multi-day treks on horseback or with donkeys.
Craft workshops for working with lake cane and stone in Passignano sul Trasimeno, Castiglione del Lago and Corciano. You can actively participate in harvesting activities on the farm or attend visits to wineries with tastings.
The strength of the farm is the educational farm that offers educational projects dedicated to children, school groups and adults related to agricultural activities and knowledge of nature supported by appropriate educational material.
It is about 20 km from Perugia, 30 km from Assisi and Gubbio and 6 km from Magione.
