The agriturismo
Residenza il Girasole is a farmhouse in Umbria, a few kilometres from Assisi and Perugia. Ideal for a relaxing holiday, rich with charm and fascination, the Agriturismo Residenza il Girasole welcomes its guests in five apartments which have all been restored in keeping with their original characteristics.
The accommodation
Set in an estate of more than 5 hectares, among Grechetto, Trebbiano and San Giovese vineyards and surrounded by centuries-old olive trees on the northern slope of the Bettona hillside, the farmhouse is immersed in an unparalleled natural setting.
There are numerous details that hark back to the rural tradition and an attentive eye can catch by observing the sandstone walls, the ceilings with ancient tiles, and other details in the interiors. Careful restoration has divided the structure into 5 self-contained apartments, equipped with furnishings with attention to every detail.
There are three apartments in the main farmhouse: theUva sleeps two and includes a living room with kitchenette and two armchair beds, double bedroom, and bathroom with shower. La Mora sleeps four, a living room with kitchenette and a double sofa bed, twin or double bedroom, bathroom with shower. Il Fico sleeps 7, living room with mobile-kitchen and a double sofa bed, double bedroom, triple bedroom, 2 bathrooms with shower, furnished terrace.
Two other apartments are in the rustic annex: the Peach sleeps 6, an equipped outdoor space, living room with mobile-kitchen and a double sofa bed, quadruple bedroom, bathroom with shower. L'Olivo sleeps 4, an equipped vegetable garden, living room with mobile-kitchen and a double sofa bed, twin or double bedroom, bathroom with shower.
Activities and surrounding
For those who love the cuisine of our land and for those who want to take a journey through the typical Umbrian flavors, we offer cooking classes on various types of dishes to learn about the products of the local tradition, carefully choosing the wines to accompany them.
The tranquility of the environment makes the possibility of jogging, biking or horseback riding pleasant. Wonderful trails in unspoiled countryside that features natural beauty as precious as it is little known can be undertaken by bicycle, made available by the farm. The riding school, located 2 km from the farm, organizes customized treks upon request, both for beginners and experts. Possibility of accommodation of own horses.
In the meadow surrounding the farmhouse we find the swimming pool, open from late May to September.
In the first vicinity, of great artistic and religious interest is Assisi, city of St. Francis patron saint of Italy, with its 3 medieval basilicas whose interiors are the work of Giotto. A few kilometers away are Perugia, Spoleto, Spello, Foligno, Trevi, Todi, Orvieto: examples of medieval cities, with narrow streets, castles and towers and large stately palaces seats of power of the past.
No less interesting and fragrant with real life are the many villages that dot Umbria. In the countryside, the freneticism of city life has not so far overtaken, which allows us to still feel the warmth of the people who populate these picturesque towns of Umbria.
