Agriturismo Belvedere delle Crete

This agriturismo was created by carefully restoring a typical Umbrian country house situated within an organic farm comprising over 200 hectares near Orvieto. The building is surrounded by hilly country which features the famous calanchi (clay formations), vineyards and olive groves, a perfect background for relaxing holidays or weekends but also an ideal base for tours to cities of art, picturesque villages, spa centres and for gourmet excursions. The agriturismo offers accommodation in apartments.

The agriturismo consists of a country house divided into 4 self-contained apartments. Restoration work has been carried out by respecting local rural architecture, using only local materials which in many cases are handmade. All apartments have been furnished in the style typical of the area, and feature soft, warm colours and quality bedroom and bathroom furniture and equipment.
Each apartment has a large private garden or a loggia/veranda equipped with barbecue and outdoor furniture, where guests can eat and chat in total privacy.

The large communal garden features a 7m x 14m (1-2m h) pool, bowls, a secluded area and a play area for children. From the garden beautiful paths flanked by olive trees lead to the farm's fields cultivated with wheat and sunflowers, to the vineyards and the olive groves, to the “calanchi” and to the typical ponds used to water the cattle.
A large, well looked-after organic vegetable garden is also at the guests' disposal.

Two-room apartment with 2 beds comprises a large kitchen equipped with sink, four-ring stove, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, 1 bedroom with TV, 1 bathroom, sitting room with fireplace and sat. TV, a panoramic outdoor loggia overlooking the pool and the surrounding valleys. Large private garden with barbecue also accessible from the bedroom.
Three-room 'More' apartment with 4 beds is situated on the first floor and comprises a kitchen which also includes freezer and dishwasher, 2 bedrooms (one with fireplace), 2 bathrooms (en suite), living room with fireplace, 4 panoramic typical loggias complete with outdoor furniture which can be used at mealtimes. Beautiful view of the valleys, Orvieto, Allerona and other surrounding villages.
Three-room 'Casetta' apartment with 4 beds; this is a little house by the side of the main building to which it is connected by a series of arches typical of Tuscan/Umbrian country houses. The apartment comprises a kitchen complete with freezer and dishwasher, a living room with fireplace, 2 bedrooms with TV, 2 bathrooms (en suite). Outside there is a splendid loggia with superb views over the pool and the surrounding area and a large garden equipped with barbecue, which can also be accessed from one of the bedrooms.
Four-room 'Biancospino' apartment with 6 beds, comprises a large kitchen with four-ring stove, oven, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, 3 bedrooms with TV, 3 bathrooms (en suite) 1 extra bathroom, a large living room with big fireplace, sat. TV, a beautiful porch elegantly furnished which serves as outdoors living space. The private garden, which can also be accessed from 2 of the 3 bedrooms, is equipped with a barbecue and offers a panoramic view of the surrounding area. The whole structure can also be rented as one house/villa for 14 people. Similarly to the outside porch, the dining room of the “Biancospino” apartment can also seat up to 14 people.

All the apartments are given (also only for weekends) provided with all comforts, electric iron, cleaning stuff, detergent and washing powder, soaps and so on.
All the apartments are also provided with first necessary stuff like: coffee, tea, herbal tea, oil, vinegar, salt, sugar..etc

Thanks to its geographical position, the agriturismo is an ideal base for tours to the best-known Italian cities of art, as well as countless wonderful villages and hamlets scattered among Umbria, Tuscany and Lazio, each characterised by its own traditions and where each season events and typical village fêtes are held that bring to life local uses and customs and offer the chance to taste the local cuisine. Some examples are: Allegrona (5 km), Perugia (70 km), Orvieto (20 km), Todi (50 km), Viterbo (60 km), Cianciano (40 km), Montepulciano (45 km), Lake Bolsena (30 km), Lake Trasimeno (40 km), Città della Pieve 25 km, and naturally Rome 120 km and Florence 150 km. The sea is 90 km away (Argentario area), the mountains (Mount Amiata, an area teeming with stunning spa centres and ski resorts) 50 km. Nearby are also some well-known spa centres, such as San Casciano Dei Bagni, which is 20 km away, and Chianciano Terme at 40km.

As well as taking wonderful walks in the unspoilt nature, the agriturismo offers the possibility to swim in the pool, play bowls, as well as a small but well equipped play area for children. Near the agriturismo there are sport centres which offer tennis, horse-riding or canoeing and angling either on the Tiber or on Lake Bolsena.
