Loc. Casaperazza, Canonica 05018 Orvieto (Terni) Code
Established in 2002, halfway between Orvieto and Lake Bolsena, the farmhouse owes its name to the nearby Tione spring, with its oligomineral and healing waters, which is located within a nature reserve, a habitat for native fauna.
For 4 generations the farm has been run by the same family, hospitable people with a passion for the land, nature, animals and wholesome foods, always careful to pass on this love of the countryside to their guests. The farm produces with organic methods and with the help of permaculture, extra virgin olive oil, fruits, vegetables, grains, mushrooms, jams and wine.
The farmhouse dates back to the 1700s and preserves two ancient wooden doors. Restored with care in preserving its original structure, it now houses five apartments furnished with arte povera furniture, embroidered curtains, fine fabrics and paintings. A terrace with tables and chairs is ideal for outdoor dining. A large common room with adjoining kitchen and fireplace is available for tastings of the farm products, seminars, and educational activities.
"Il Castagno" apartment: named after the chestnut tree that stands in front of the apartment. According to guests, it is probably the apartment where you can still breathe the atmosphere of the simple peasant life of the past. The ceiling, which is original, was made with bricks and chestnut beams, which illuminated by terracotta lamps, makes it particularly warm.
On the second floor, the apartment consists of 2 double bedrooms, kitchen, living room, bathroom, safe, TV-SAT.
Apartment "The Granary": until 1990 it was used as a warehouse for storing grain produced by the farm. Hence its name. It is the largest and brightest apartment on the farm. On the second floor it consists of 2 double rooms, 1 single room, kitchen, living room, bathroom, safe, TV-SAT.
Apartment "L'Orciolaio": it is among the oldest living units in the whole Valle del Tione agritourism. During renovation work, an ancient Orciolaio (place where containers for oil and wine were stored) came to light. Hence its name. It is the smallest apartment in the farmhouse. Ideal for 2/3 people. Very well finished. Equipped with a large kitchen, a living room, a large bedroom and a beautiful bathroom, a safe and a TV-SAT.
Apartment "La Torretta": is among the oldest housing units in the entire Valle del Tione farmhouse. It dates back to the 1700s, and testimony to this is the original poplar wood door at the entrance to the living room. This room was used until 1970 as a place where cheese was made and stored. On the upper floor of the apartment is the most beautiful room on the farm. Spacious and bright with a panoramic view of the surrounding countryside. On the first and second floor: 1 double bedroom, living room, kitchen, living room, bathroom, safe, TV-SAT.
Apartment "Lo Stradone": the apartment owes its name to the centuries-old tree-lined street that is located near the farmhouse. Probably this century-old tree-lined avenue was the ancient access road to the farmhouse.
It is located on the ground floor and is very spacious with a large double bedroom, kitchen, large bathroom, living room, safe and TV-SAT.
Inside the property is a well-kept garden that holds a rare collection of hydrangeas, old roses and herbs; a large park with a swimming pool, and a beautiful 6-hectare forest with 30-year-old trees, brambles, turkey oaks, cherry trees and a wide variety of mushrooms, first and foremost, porcini, complete the property.
In addition to visiting the farm, tasting its wines and cheeses, participating in homemade pasta making workshops and Italian cooking classes, guests can discover the medieval hamlets and various crafts, take part in tending the farm garden and agricultural activities.
For joggers, a 4-kilometer trail crosses the estate and reaches the source of the Tione.
