The agriturismo
Historic masseria-monastery located in the Altamura area, built in the 17th century by Franciscan friars.
Today the farm has preserved the architectural lines of the masseria-monastery: contemplate the ancient bell tower and the small church dedicated to Our Lady of the Assumption.
All around is lush nature that invites peace and meditation.
The accommodation
The restaurant and guest rooms have been created in a wing of the old lamione. The four rooms have independent entrance from the garden, TV and private toilet.
A seasonal menu is served with raw materials from the organic garden and harvested in the Alta Murgia National Park among the wild herbs (Cardoncello mushroom, thistle, asparagus, asphodel...), meats from sheep, cow, pork, and homemade cheeses made with raw milk.
All farm products can be purchased on site.
Activities and surrounding
The estate is located in the Alta Murgia National Park and is an educational farm.
It organizes workshops and lectures on organic farming, tastings, activities on the product chain, food and environmental education. Numerous animals are present: cows, horses, sheep, ostriches, deer, pigs, farmyard animals.
A short distance away are the Romanesque churches of Trani, Altamura and Bari, Castel del Monte, Matera, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and World Capital of Culture 2019.
