Masseria Galatea is a family-run farmhouse  near Santa Maria di Leuca with a warm and homely atmosphere, where you can experience the naturalistic and culinary treasures of Puglia, relax and feel at home.

It is ideal for an eco-sustainable holiday that respects the nature, the environment and local communities.

 

The accommodation

Located in the heart of the uncontaminated Salento countryside, a few km from Santa Maria di Leuca and Pescoluse, Masseria Galatea presents itself as a tourist and restaurant reception place attentive to nature, local traditions, with a human and family dimension.

In fact, there are few rooms where guests will be warmly welcomed by Angelita and Pasquale, to feel at home and to fully enter the soul of the farm.

Every day, a breakfast with home-made and traditional food.

Furthermore, in our countryside you can admire the vegetable garden, the many pomegranates, the caper grove, take walks outdoors, look after our donkeys, get to know farm animals such as dogs and cats, do birdwatching thanks to the numerous artificial houses installed to give refuge for local and migratory birds.

Our restaurant offers traditional Salento dishes, where we use materials produced on the farm according to organic farming techniques. Our menu changes periodically because it respects the seasonality of vegetables and fruit and is embellished with local wines and exclusively craft beers from Salento. In the month of August the restaurant is open every evening; in the months of June, July and September, it is open every evening with closed Tuesdays. In the months of April, May. Close in October.

We are committed to making our farmhouse a place with a familiar, human, intimate and relaxed atmosphere where our guests can completely regenerate and enjoy the slow pace that only the wonderful Salento can offer.

 

RESTAURANT OPENING:

In the low season months (April, May, the second part of September and October) the restaurant is open a few days a week. 
In the months of June, July and in the first part of September it is open every evening with closed on Tuesday. 
Open every evening in August.

Activities and surrounding

Visitors to Masseria Galatea can admire the soul of the farm, a pomegranate grove, an age old olive grove, a large caper area and an educational vegetable and herb garden.

The educational farm is open to children and adults to experience the simple and genuine life of the countryside. 
You can live the educational gardens, the pomogranate orchard, to know the cappers plants.

Our guestes can socialize with the donkeys in the farm. take care of them and partecipate in guided walks with them; also admire our Bird Garden consisting of nice wooden houses designed to attract and welcome birds and wild animals. 

For sports lovers, in Masseria Galatea you will find a regular tennis court, where you can spend pleasan hours of leisure and healthy movement. 

The Masseria is just 8 km away is Santa Maria di Leuca, which is both the scenery of ancient cultures that followed one another over time, and an enchanting pier stretching out into the Ionian and Adriatic seas, merged between Punta Ristola and Punta Meliso.

From Masseria Galatea you can easily reach the famous sandy beaches in the Ionic Coast such as Pescoluse, Torre Pali, Posto Vecchio, Lido Marini, Torre Mozza. 

For lovers of nature and the Mediterranean Scrub, near the agritourism, Salento offers boat trips to discover the caves on the Adriatic coast and trekking activities for adults and children in the protected park Otranto-Leuca.

Nearby, the famous Messapian archaeological site of Macurano, and the inhabited centers of Alessano and Gagliano del Capo.

With car you can arrive easily to the most important towns of the Salento such as Lecce, Otranto, Gallipoli, Porto Badisco, Galatina, Specchia and Castro.
