The agriturismo
Surrounded by a large age-old olive grove from which it takes its name, this small family-run agriturismo preserves farming traditions. At about 800 m from the sea and from the historical centre of Otranto, it produces organic fare to supply its restaurant. Salentine specialities made on the farm can be purchased the sales outlet.
The accommodation
Leaving themain body of the farmhouse and across the organic vegetable garden are the bedrooms, furnished with objects from local culture and with cotton sheets decorated with trimmings and lace. Guests can have breakfasts of homemade produce under a pergola or at the coffee bar kiosk.
The restaurant, which also offers a catering service, serves typical specialities and excellent local wine. Recipes range from vegetables to pulses, local cheese and fish, pasta and meat barbecued on olive wood fire.
Farm produce such as olive oil, vegetables preserved in oil (chillies, aubergines, sun-dried tomatoes), negroamaro wine and porchetta (stuffed and spit-roast suckling pig) are on sale.
A camp site with a large pitch area surrounded by an olive grove is available, with pedestrian access and adjoining car park. The use of vehicles is permitted for loading and unloading operations only.
