The agriturismo
In Muro Leccese, far from the everyday hustle and bustle, a traditional 18th century farmhouse nestled in the Salento countryside, a return to times past, in a clean and tidy setting managed with maximum attention to detail: especially striking are the wide green spaces interspersed with areas of crystal clear water which mirror the beautiful blues of the sky.
The agriturismo owes its name to two potbellied prankster brothers, who adored telling jokes and tall tales (known as “panzanate” in Italian, these tall tales gave the brothers their nickname – “Panzanari”).
The accommodation
Guest accommodation is provided in 48 comfortable rooms (spread over two floors), all with bathrooms (including walk-in showers), TVs, safes and air conditioning.
A delicious-smelling breakfast is served in the beautiful communal lounge, comprising fresh baked sweet treats, homemade biscuits and other specialities. A selection of wholesome and succulent delicacies are served daily for lunch and dinner: the traditional Salento recipes are prepared using the finest fresh produce. The agriturismo holds bread-making classes and also offers meeting rooms, a reading room and a TV room.
The farm rears free range pigs and birds, with maximum respect for their nature.
Activities and surrounding
Your children will adore the outdoor play area, and the small enclosure where a group of friendly animals graze, including donkeys and ponies. The beach effect swimming pool is the ideal spot for your little ones to play safely and peacefully.
A second, larger pool offers slides up to 14 metres high, and a third pool, the smallest of all, can be transformed into a whirlpool in a single click. The swimming pool area also benefits from a well-stocked snack and sandwich bar, serving tasty Salento aperitifs all day long. Umbrellas, loungers, sand football, pick-up football (polo fields) and towels are all available upon request.
The agriturismo also offers entertainment for children and adults, bocce and bicycles for hire. The sea is easily accessible: the agriturismo works in partnership with the Lido dei Pini beach resort and AcquaSpeed at the Laghi Alimini in Otranto.
