The agriturismo
The farm, surrounded by green hills and equipped with a pool, is located on the edge of the Cilento Park. The backdrop for the agriturismo is a beautiful landscape with a view over theGulf ofSalerno, in a convenient location for exploring both the Cilento and Amalfi coasts.
The agriturismo, which covers an area of 20 hectares, planted with olive groves, vineyards and a vegetable garden, is only4 kmfrom the sea. Guests can immerse themselves in an atmosphere of total relaxation in the on-site pool or go for bike rides or walks along the hill paths or the fabulous coastal beaches.
The accommodation
The agriturismo consists of three renovated buildings. The bedrooms are all equipped with private bathroom and television. In the familiar and friendly environment, you can enjoy original cooking, full of ancient, natural flavours and prepared with home-grown produce and meat from our farm. The cellar houses a select variety of local wines.
The agriturismo offers a select collection of typical local products. From the kitchen, you can enjoy: fresh pasta, honey, red and white wines, extra virgin olive oil, jams, pickles, Cilento meats (soppressata – a cured dry salami, capicollo – a cold cut made from pork, pancetta, sausage), fresh and aged cheeses made from goat's milk, buffalo milk mozzarella.
Activities and surrounding
The educational farm attached to the agriturismo is a useful system for helping youngsters discover man’s relationship with the environment and the link with the earth and with traditions.
Younger children learn about the countryside and come into contact with farm animals while older ones learn about the values of rural culture.
Courses are organised, and can be attended by both children and adults, on how to make fresh pasta, pizza and biscuits.
Courses are also planned for the olive harvest, grape harvest and wine-making.
A stay here may be a way to find out about one or more specific aspects of farm life or the rural and natural environment of the area around the farm. And to learn by playing.
The resort town of Palinuro and the archaeological excavations of Velia and Paestum are easily reached from the agriturismo. Following the Torchiara Greenway, starting from the oldest part of the town and passing through7 km of the local area’s vegetation and architecture, you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in unspoilt nature and enjoy wonderful views of a landscape on the border between the sea and the mountains.
Other attractions: Museum of Rural Civilisation in Matonti (5 km), Ortodonico in the municipality of Montecorice (25 km), the Diocesan Museum in Vallo della Lucania (30 km), Paestum Museum in Paestum (10 km). Maritime Museum in Pioppi (20 km), archaeological site of Velia in Ascea (20 km), Etruscan Museum in Pontecagnano (40 km).
