Borgo Val di Taro (Parma) Code 034006-AG-00015
A small stone hamlet at 700 meters above sea level, dating from around 1850, and surrounded by 40 hectares of woods, meadows, pastures and arable land.
Guests are welcomed into a home where animals, the environment and nature are respected with ecological and sustainable choices. The main building has been renovated, going far beyond green building, using natural and environmentally friendly materials: real lime, oak wood, cork, unfired earth and local stone. A photovoltaic solar panel system was installed for electricity and solar thermal panels with a wood boiler for domestic hot water and heating.
Stone is a room with a four-poster double bed, stone floor and possibility of an extra bed. It is on the ground floor and accessible for the disabled.
Suite is a room with a double bed, solid oak floor, earthen plaster, and bathroom with a particularly large shower stall with shower head. It is on the second floor.
For all rooms: natural latex mattresses, electromagnetic circuit breaker, bath linens, hair dryer and towel warmer, eco-bio detergents, slippers, free Wi-fi in the room.
The hamlet is isolated but a 15-minute drive from Borgo Val di Taro, just a few kilometers from Tuscany and the Cinque Terre region of Liguria .
A few kilometers away is theWWF Oasis of Ghirardi: the nature of Val Taro is further preserved in this 600-hectare reserve, which can be visited freely every day.
Hiking is very interesting, thanks to the paths marked by the CAI, one of which passes behind the farmhouse, and the many branches of the Via Francigena and Via Degli Abati.
Borgotaro is also renowned for its Fungo Porcino IGP, to which a festival and fair are dedicated each year in the fall.
Inform the agriturismo of any animals at the time of booking.
