Località Santa Maria, 1, 00010 Montorio Romano (Rome) Code
An unspoiled territory enclosed in a frame of villages, hills and olive groves surrounds the farmhouse, where the beauty of the landscape and the quality of good traditional food come together.
Agriturismo La Ripa is located in Sabina, about 50 km from Rome and close to the Franciscan sanctuary of S. Maria delle Grazie (14th century).
Facilities include a restaurant (also open to outsiders by reservation) and a seasonal swimming pool.
The farmhouse offers accommodation in 9 rooms:
- 5 doubles-
1 twin (two single beds)
- 2 quads (also triple use)
- 1 quad (two double beds)
The facility preserves a simple spirit. The rooms are bright and enjoy anexcellent panoramic location. They are all equipped with bathroom with shower and window, bed and bath linens, radiators in cold season and fans in summer.
The property has an air-conditioned TV room accessible to guests.
The pool is seasonal and does not allow access to 4-legged friends, who are instead welcome, on a leash, in the adjacent pine forest and indoor areas, including the restaurant.
The restaurant consists of two rooms and offers typical local cuisine.
Established in 1983, the farm preserves and manages an estate of about sixty-five hectares of land used for the free grazing of our livestock and partly for the forest and olive grove, which with four thousand plants of Carboncella, Leccino and Frantoio produces oil for internal consumption and also for direct sale.
The farmhouse is also available for private parties or exclusive events.
The farmhouse is located on one of the stages of the Way of St. Francis and is much frequented by walkers and pilgrims, who find here a pleasant refuge and excellent refreshment. Just 1.5 kilometers away is the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Grazie, a Franciscan complex linked to the Marian cult.
Also a few kilometers away is the Monti Lucretili Regional Natural Park , which offers the possibility of trekking and walking with numerous trails.
It is possible to visit neighboring villages , such as Nerola with its Orsini castle, Ponticelli, Scandriglia, and Orvinio. Also of interest are the church of S. Nicola on the western slope of Monte Gennaro and the Cenobio di S. Angelo near Montorio Romano. A little farther away are Lake Turano and the Abbey of Farfa. Nearby there are also numerous installations of rustic villas from Roman times (eastern slope along the Via Licines, villa alla Scarpellata near Marcellina); on Castiglione hill near Palombara there is a water cistern from the Imperial age and just beyond a Roman road and the old Mola di Casoli.
