Agriturismo Radaméz

The Farmhouse Radaméz is a charming farmhouse close to Castellaro Lagusello nearby Monzambano located in the beautiful setting of the hills that surround Lake Garda  with its typical climate and vegetation.

The unique farmhouse is totally surrounded by woods and vineyards in a very quiet and fairly secluded location.

The Farm offers a charming courtyard with buildings positioned at the center of the property. The conductor represents the fifth generation of the family settled on this land in the first half of the twentieth century. The farm has evolved steadily over time, adapting to the changing needs of housing and agricultural production. The initial nucleus has, however, lived centuries-old events (some evidences go back to 1500/600).

In the late 50s of the twentieth century Gabriele Zerbini (Venice, 1924 - Desenzano del Garda, 1986) known by everyone since then with the name "Radaméz”, had the good fortune to stay in this farm. Educated man  but a true free spirit for his lifestyle and thought, he  performed some works of art as a painter in this farm. His artistic creativity  was supported by great skill in the use of brushes and colors and he left, across the south hills of Lake Garda, many and attractive paintings. Those who knew him recalled for his  friendly and down-to-earth disposition in dealing with others. A style that we like to call "Naive". A documentary film that concerns him is titled "Radaméz, the son of the stars".
Over time we have collected some of his paintings and for this, but not only, we decided to give to our farm his artistic name.

For a comfortable and peaceful stay Radaméz (Naϊf House) offers guests accommodation in apartments equipped with every comfort with independent entrance and protected  ith wide and pleasant porches. "Naive House", because we have a small exhibition of paintings by Rada,éz (Naive person and artist). Naive has precise meanings and values that we trust will be appreciated by our guests: "goodness, innocence, passion, simplicity, sincerity, spontaneity, rusticity, respect for people, enchantment of nature". A special barbecue and play area equipped for children are accessible in the spacious garden-park In a dedicated wing of the farmhouse, with climate and  services, you can admire the paintings of Radaméz and a small exhibition of old instruments of agricultural technology.

Admirable is a large wooden press of the end of '700 among other objects and documents. The apartments are spacious and bright, each one is furnished in a particular way. They take their name from the peculiar furniture that you can recognize in the photo gallery of the site: Tree of grapevine; Tree of Life; Sunset; Naϊf House; Toreador. The porches that bring defense and pleasantness to the apartments, keep the original volume. These architectural elements, typical of rural tradition, were present in all the courts of the agricultural area until recent years. They were a place of shelter, where the farmers spent much of their time working and socializing. A true gathering place where guests can enjoy a relaxing, recreational and social time.

In the farm and in the nearby areas pleasant walking, cycling activities can be done with the eye catching landscapes, monuments, towers and castles full of  history. "But this is a small Tuscany" said a friend, staying for the first time in this neighborhood. Not by chance: vegetation, topography and climate recall true corners of Tuscany. We are very close to the Mincio Natural Park and to the Nature Reserve of Castellaro Lagusello. Every guest appreciates and enjoys the peculiar sweetness of the landscape and mild climate of Lake Garda.

The human presence here goes back to time  immemorial because of these natural beauties. On the banks of the moraine ponds and bogs, which Castellaro Lagusello is the most tangible example, many archaeological sites have delivered many artifacts distributed in several museums: that of the nearby Villa Mirra in Cavriana worth a visit. In Villa Arrighi (Castellaro Lagusello), stopped Napoleon Bonaparte. Many memorials monuments evidence that many important historical events took part in this area, especially of the Italian Unification (Risorgimento). In Monzambano in July 1859, Vittorio Emanuele II and Count Camillo Benso di Cavour had a stormy and historical discussion. But everything here speaks of the Risorgimento.

The farmhouse Radaméz is secluded from the clamor of traffic, but quickly connected to a wider and safer road network to reach: the cities of Mantua, Brescia and Verona; the historical monuments of San Martino della Battaglia, Solferino, Custoza; Peschiera del Garda, Sirmione del Garda, Desenzano del Garda; Valeggio with Borghetto sul Mincio and Sigurtà; Lazise with amusement parks (Gardaland - Movieland - Caneva); the many water parks are only a few minutes.

Services and Activities: breakfast is served in a distinctive and dedicated room. Bike rental (certain number of bikes are available for rent): hiking in the area or on the many surrounding cycle tracks. Play area equipped for children. A special and characteristic  barbecue area is available in the park. The owner will provide you with tourist, historical and cultural information about the area and neighboring localities, accompanied by information material. On request gastronomy and wine tours will be organized in order to explore and discover the best typical products. In the dates indicated by the farming tradition propitiatory bonfires will be lighted with happy and healthy drinks. Possibility to take part in agricultural activities, especially during grape harvest.
