Piuro (Sondrio) Code
On the top of a hill, surrounded by vineyards, stands the "Torre Scilano", an enchanting place situated along the "Bregaglia" cycle path with the Acquafraggia waterfalls in the background. Not only a natural site, but also a historical one, as the tower stands on the remains of the ancient Piuro, a flourishing town buried by a terrible landslide in September 1618.
The property, crossed by a small channel of alpine water, is connected to trails and bike paths that lead to mountain villages and the beautiful medieval town of Chiavenna, a place of food and wine and historical. This particular traditional building is closely linked to the agricultural and farming territory. The cultivations originate from the history of the place:
- vineyards of resistant varieties that already in the ancient Piuro were cultivated for the production of white wine
- small fruits and strawberries, which are also naturally present in the area, given the proximity of the forest and natural springs.
- The ancient fruits and alpine herbs
- the cultivation of vegetables
The valley is characterized by characteristic inns: the Crotti , where you can taste the typical products and the local wine. Presence of excellent restaurants, also with Michelin stars.
