The agriturismo
Near Castorano old town, there are two country houses, dated from the nineteenth century and recently restored with all modern comforts. They offer accommodation in independent apartments with a superb view all around and a swimming pool with hydro-massage.
The accommodation
In the centre our beautifully situated farm, with a great and wide view all around of green hills and on the horizon of mountains and sea, there are two country houses dated from the nineteenth century.
They have been recently restored, in accordance with rural architecture and offer accommodation in 12 independent apartments, provided with all modern comforts. Each apartment has air conditioning, independent heating, satellite tv, rooms with private bathroom and a fully furnished kitchen. There is a covered outdoor parking for each house, a very nice garden with playground, a big swimming pool for adults (7 metres x 16 metres) with hydro-massage area, a little swimming pool for children, a bowls field, a barcbecue, an organic kitchen-garden and so on.
As soon as you arrive, you will be immersed in our vineyard and olive grove which are biologically tilled.
It is possible to have full board or half board at "La Scala" restaurant, which is far from our country house just about a km.
Activities and surrounding
Imagine one of the many country landscape of Marche painted by Tullio Pericoli. It's just here, in these green hills, that you can find this farm holidays centre, near Castorano old town, a nice village overlooked Tronto river valley.
Castorano is a nice old village with a population of about 2170. It stands on three hills, 280 metres above sea level, and overlooks Tronto river valley. Its history is strictly linked to that of the near town of Ascoli Piceno. In 297-296 a.c., after a battle in Tronto river valley, Romans subjugated population of Piceno leaving them just local administration. Since 90 until 88 a.c. the people of Piceno revolted against the Romans; there was a new war in which Castorano took part too. A testimony of that it is represented by a lot of arms, horses rests and human skeletons which were found. In 1283 "Castrum Casturanum", that was owned by Mr Rinaldo of Monsampolo, was sold to Ascoli Piceno for a large amount of money, so Castorano became a fortified castle, with the task of controlling Offida, allied to Fermo, historical enemy of Ascoli Piceno.
It is possible to rent mountain bikes to make excursions or to have long walks in the hills. From Castorano it is also easy to reach interesting and historical towns such as Ascoli Piceno, Offida, Ripatransone and Acquaviva Picena. It is nice for example to arrange a walking tour of the wonderful medieval town of Ascoli Piceno with a guide. Moreover our country house is at only 20 Km far from the Adriatic Sea and at only 20 minutes by car from the Sibillini Mountains, so that you can decide to go both to the beach (to Grottammare and San Benedetto del Tronto, best known as "La Riviera delle Palme") and to the mountain (to The National Park of Sibillini Mountains).
