The agriturismo

Nestled in a thriving citrus grove and lapped by the waters of the Platani river, where “shells roll” (in the words of Quasimodo), the agriturismo stands perched on the slopes of Mount Cammarata. The agriturismo is the expression of a passion for agriculture, which has been passed down from father to son for over 100 years, delivering the highest quality, wholesome produce with a focus on tradition and the environment.

The accommodation

The refined guest rooms boast all the home comforts you could need, in rustic style with a modern twist, bright and sunny with the pleasant scent of orange blossom, overlooking the citrus groves and the bends of the river. The rooms include TV, air-conditioning and individual climate control, Wi-Fi, complimentary toiletries and hairdryers. You’ll also find an infinity pool with whirlpool and waterfalls, Wi-Fi throughout the pool area, barbecue, parking and a reading room. Wake up to generous breakfasts of organic ingredients from the farm itself and other local producers. A selection of sweet and savoury options are available, from organic jam to homemade sweet treats, walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts as well as the traditional croissants accompanied by delicious hot drinks. Seasonal fruits and preserves are also available to purchase.

 

The campsite enjoys the shade of the remains of one of the walls of the region’s oldest water mill, of which much of the aqueduct system can still be seen today. Tents, campervans and roulottes welcome. In addition to pitches with electric current, campers will find bocce, a swimming pool with sundeck, showers, toilets (including disabled), dishwashing and laundry facilities, water, waste water disposal (grey and black), spaces for barbecues and fishing pegs along the river.

Activities and surrounding

Guests can get involved in the production of extra virgin olive oil (from the harvest to the pressing), as well as picking various farm produce, and enjoying the final tasting. Within a 40 km radius you’ll find the Castle of Mussomeli (10 km), Sutera – a hamlet of Arabic origin (13 km), MountCammarata - popular with fans of trekking, mountain biking and nature, and the spectacular Valley of the Temples (40 km).

We ended up almost by accident spending a weekend at Tenuta Lanza, by the end of our stay we didn't want to leave. Nature, relaxation, friendliness, good food, everything perfect. Ideal place to regenerate body and soul. Highly recommended.

We take care of: we cook for the guests, we welcome the guests, we take care of the crops.

It was a desire to to meet new and interesting people all the time which led me to run an agriturismo.
