Modica (Ragusa) Code 19088006B503625
The Masseria Cianciò is found at the extreme tip of eastern Sicily, 12 km from Modica and 5 km from Pozzallo.
Nestled in the countryside of Modica amidst carobs, olive groves, prickly pears and dry walls, our agriturismo has kept its original features regarding materials and typical furnishings of country homes from the past century.
Our residence is located in a traditional Sicilian "masseria", consisting of the manor house, stables, storage for carobs, wheat and hay, all facing the "baglio", today now inviting rooms for guests.
A few metres away is the dependance “A Mànnara” with its charming rock garden.
Of the 8 spacious and comfy accommodations (all with bath), two have a master bedroom, three are for four guests and two are actual apartments for 4 or more guests.
Each room is customized in all details, also thanks to the professionalism of the owner who is an interior designer. The result is an elegant residence in total harmony with the countryside and setting.
The period pieces date to the late 1800s and early 1900s and perfectly adhere to the choices made in restoring the ancient building: exposed stone walls, original flooring with local materials, including pietra pece ragusana, and exposed wooden beams on ceilings.
We also offer a library full of books to consult while relaxing. You may also choose to take a stroll down one of the long trails scattered across the estate.
The pool is found amidst the carobs, made in local stone. It has the charming look of a trough.
The masseria is ideally located for day trips to the towns in the Val di Noto, like Modica, Ragusa, Ibla and Scicli, examples of Sicilian baroque art and part of UNESCO Heritage.
If you love archaeology, a few minutes away is Cava Ispica, which includes finds from the Greek, Roman, PaleoChristian and Byzantine ages.
If you prefer the sea, lots to choose along the coast up to the Oasi Naturalistica di Vendicari e Marzamemi, a typical fisherman town. On the eastern shore you can take a ferry to Malta.
