The agriturismo
A rural hamlet dating back to the 1700s, on a hill overlooking Monterchi, offering one of the most beautiful views of the entire Tiber Valley. Surrounded by 12 hectares of organic hay fields and olive trees, the agriturismo comprises 2 stone farmhouses with private swimming pools - Montemiliano and Casa Rughino. Guests can hire the entire complex, individual apartments or rooms.
The accommodation
The farmhouses, 150 metres apart and stylishly renovated, each enjoy scenic views, independent heating and gardens with furnished pergolas, barbecues and swimming pools..
Montemiliano: comprises 3 units — Rimessa, Fienile and Tabaccaia — just a few metres apart. A communal area (Taverna) provides the perfect place for occupants to cook in the well-equipped kitchen and dine together. Il Fienile, spread over two levels, offers independent access on the first floor to two rooms with bathrooms, and on the ground floor a complete apartment. La Rimessa, surrounded by gardens, is a one-room apartment with kitchenette, open fireplace, bathroom and utility space. La Tabaccaia (once used to dry tobacco) comprises 2 twin rooms with bathrooms, connected by and internal staircase.
Casa Rughino is a Tuscan farmhouse comprising a main unit and a guesthouse just a few metres away. On the ground floor of the main house, you’ll find a large terrace with views of Monterchi, leading to the Sole apartment, with lounge with open fireplace and well-equipped kitchen, twin bedroom, a triple bedroom, bathroom and utility space. On the upper floor, an internal staircase links the apartment with a third twin room, a bathroom and a small lounge available to the Sole or Luna apartments. On the mezzanine level, the Luna apartment boasts a well-equipped kitchen, open fireplace, adjoining lounge with the Sole apartment, bedroom with two beds and a bathroom; upstairs you'll find another bathroom, and 2 bedrooms with 2/3 beds. Camera Aurora is a twin room with bathroom, independent entrance and garden terrace (can be interconnecting with the Luna apartment). The old hayloft has been transformed into the Cielo one-room apartment with lounge, kitchenette and bathroom on the ground floor, plus a double bedroom with large windows on the mezzanine level.
Activities and surrounding
Monterchi, a typical hamlet, is home to a wonderful museum housing scales from every time period, and one of the most famous paintings by Piero della Francesca (XV century): the Madonna del Parto.
As well as visiting Arezzo, Anghiari, Castiglion Fiorentino, Cortona, Urbino and Gubbio, guests can enjoy tennis and golf just a 5 minute drive away; for those who love to keep active, you'll find trekking and horseback excursions, yoga classes and other activities at the Città di Castello spa centre. Prada, Gucci and other outlets are just a few km away.
