The agriturismo Belvedere is located in the heart of Maremma, along the four roads that connect Grosseto (15 minutes) to Siena (35 minutes), with numerous coastal towns, Capalbio, Monte Argentario, Talamone, Castiglione della Pescaia, and Punta Ala, which thanks to its uniqueness, is the preferred place of many politicians, entrepreneurs, and actors.
The area is also an attraction for mountain lovers, both in the summer and winter, including Monte Amiata, where you may ski and go to spas, thanks to the famous Terme di Saturnia and the nascent Terme di Petriolo and Terme di Sorano in the area. In the province of Grosseto there are numerous archeological sites (Parco Archeologico del Tufo, Roselle, Vetulonia, etc...) and characteristic historic centers (Grosseto, Massa Marittima, Orbetello, Pitigliano, Sorano, Sovana, etc...) of a medieval and Renaissance imprint, thus making the heritage of Maremma among the most important in Italy.
A trip to Maremma has always been in the name of nature, able to arouse great emotions. In fact there are numerous protected nature reserves here that offer impressive fauna and botanical varieties, in the evocative light and landscape of this land.
"Diaccia-Botrona" and "Laguna di Orbetello" are damp coastal areas of international importance; "Montioni" is an immense Mediterranean wooded area full of mystery; "Farma e Pietra" are forests between rivers with botanical and zoological rarities; "Cornate e Fosini" is a wild reserve in the mountains with woods, castles, and prairies; "Basso-Merse" protects a whimsical and lively river; "Poggio all’Olmo" is a place of meditation and bird watching; "Rocconi e Pescinello" are two incredible sites full of ravines, rare animals, centuries-old trees, and clean water; "Monte Labbro" evokes suggestive stories and nature; the "Bosco della SS Trinità" speaks of dragons and long-lost forests; "Monte Penna" represents the loveliest mountains and forest; "Montauto" is home to the river Fiora and its wildlife.
Last but not least, the quality of the food and wine in Maremma is wonderful, and it’s well worth the trip. Excellent typical specialties like acquacotta, pappardelle with boar or hare sauce, the classic tortelli maremmani filled with chard and ricotta, meat dishes with fowl or fish.
We cannot forget to mention the other excellent products of this land, which are the wine (Morellino di Scansano, Montecucco, Monteregio di Massa Marittima, etc…) and extra virgin olive oil that accompany typical dishes and accentuate unique flavors of this unforgettable culinary tradition.
