The agriturismo
Among the sea and the Maremma region, an ancient farmhouse splendidly set in the heart of a large faunistic-game reserve and faced on the beautiful view of the Orbetello Lagoon within the Ansedonia-Tyrrhenian Sea and the outlie of Monte Argentario surrounding it.
The accommodation
For nearly 30 years, this 19th century family run farmhouse has been hosting guests, offering high quality accomodation and geniune hospitality.The five renovated apartments are fully furnished in the traditional tuscan country decor and each can house 2-4 people.
The apartments are located in the original villa where the owners themselves live. Each have their own private entrance, fully equipped kitchen, bathroom with shower, heating and house linens. The guests may enjoy the cozy lounge/reading room and the garden with patio, picnic tables and deck chairs.
Activities and surrounding
The Grazia farmhouse is located in Tuscany near the Lazio border, which makes it ideal for weekend get aways as well as for longer vacations. The main attraction is undoubtedly the enchanting Tyrrhenian sea. The Feniglia beach is only minutes away by car and easily reachable by bike. Mount Argentario is just a 20 minute drive, where one can enjoy the beautiful inlets of both Porto Ercole and Porto Santo Stefano. Santo Stefano is the harbour for the Giglio and Giannutri islands, both of which are scuba diving paradises and historical centers as well.
The farm has an equestrian center where authorized instructors offer riding lessons for beginners and advanced riders as well as trail rides amidst the meditteranean bush surrounding the farm. We also offer guided jeep tours of the the faunal reserve which is populated with numerous examples of wildlife, such as deer and wild boar. There are many naturalistic excursions in the surrounding area such as the WWF oasis of Burano and Orbetello (ideal for the winter season) and the splendid Maremma Natural Park (Uccelina).
There are numerous daytrips possible all within the vicinity: the museum and the ruins of the Roman city Cosa; Orbetello's bulwarks and buildings dating back to the Spanish rule; Port Ercole and Port Santo Stefano's Spanish forts; Capalbio's charming medieval village; the inland Etruscan and medieval towns of Pitigliano, Sovana and Sorano and Saturnia's thermal springs. Some other day trips within 40 km are the Etruscan cities of Vulci, Tarquinia, with its important museum and Tuscania, famous for the Romanesque churches. The most beautiful “art cities” are also close by: Siena ( 110 km ), Rome (140 km ) and Florence (160 km).
